Keith Clutter

1943-2023

EAST LIVERPOOL — Keith Clutter, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday evening, July 7, 2023, at UPMC Passavant Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 79.

Born in East Liverpool, December 28, 1943, he was a son of the late Everett L. and F. Ivy Lawton Clutter. A lifetime area resident, he was a member of the Beaver Local High School Class of 1961 and continued his education at Youngstown State University. He later earned a master’s degree from Rutgers University. Keith made his career in banking for over 41 years. He retired in 2006 from 1st National Community Bank where he served as the company’s president and CEO.

Keith had a great love and passion for his community. He was associated with many area organizations, including the Calcutta Lions Club, the Calcutta Rotary, the East Liverpool Jaycees, the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce and the Columbiana County Banker’s Association, where he served as president of each. He also was a member of the East Liverpool Salvation Army Advisory Board, Community Action Agency Advisory Board, an instructor at the East Liverpool Campus of Kent State University and the Tri-State Area AIB School. He was a past chairman and treasurer of the Columbiana County United Way.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky L. Cranston Clutter, at home. The couple married July 16, 1965. There are three children: Christy Clutter, Kelly Clutter and Jeffrey Clutter and his wife, Robin, all of East Liverpool. He loved his family, especially spending time with his eight grandchildren: Ashley Clutter, Seth Steele, Jessica Walker and her husband, Patrick, Alexis Steele, Kaylee Fisher and her husband, Jerry, Alivia Trevor, Ivy Clutter, and Shane Trevor; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Veness and Joyce Clayton, and a brother, Wayne Clutter.

Pastor Dirk Hall will conduct a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. up until the time of the service. A private burial service will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following Wednesday’s service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
