WELLSVILLE -- It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we mourn the loss of our beloved son, husband, grandfather, and the great friend to many that Thomas Gilbert "Tom" Clark was. He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 44 on Monday, April 24, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
He was born June 8, 1978, in Alliance, Ohio, the son of Lucille (Cianfrano) Clark of Wellsville and the late Thomas K. Clark. In addition to his father, Tom was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Gilbert Cianfrano of Rome, NY; and paternal grandparents, Olive and Cecil Clark of Wellsville.
He attended Southern Local High School and earned his GED in 1996. Tom was currently employed as a laborer in the construction industry. He considered his dune buggy his "baby" and enjoyed riding every chance he could. Tom enjoyed grilling steaks, working on vehicles, and anything that involved his Volkswagon. He also enjoyed the great outdoors – mainly hunting and fishing. Tom's greatest joy was helping to take care of his mother, who made the best iced tea for him.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Julie (Kleinknecht) Clark, whom he married October 27, 2013; one daughter, Brittney (Jake) Clark of Salineville; one son, Wyatt Clark of Wellsville; two step-children: Kaitlyn Kleinknecht and Kody Sanders; one granddaughter, Abbilyn Madden; and four step-grandchildren: Kendall, Peyton, Grayson, and Carson. Tom was also a "special grandfather" to Allen, Casie, and Dylan Heddleston. He is also survived by his mother in-law, Carol (Gary) Kleinknecht and his aunt, Sue (John) Cianfrano of Rome, NY.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
A celebration of life for Tommy will be held at a later date.
