Pearl S. Yost

NEW WATERFORD — Pearl S. Yost, 98, a longtime resident of New Waterford, passed away April 6, 2023 at her residence.

Pearl was born November 15, 1924 in Bland, Va., daughter of the late John H. and Mattie Dorsey King.

She was a member of Rogers Assembly of God Church, enjoyed going to garage sales and spending time with her many grandchildren. Pearl worked as a caregiver for most of her life.

Pearl is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Mareira of Dallas, Texas, Peggy King of New Waterford; sister, Shirley Kidd of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Yost in 1972, three brothers, Clifford, John and Ralph King; two sisters, Reathea Bevins and Ruby Roten and a great-grandson, David Lee Smith.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. A burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
