Kenneth A. ‘Kenny’ Rose

1934-2023

HAMMONDSVILLE — Kenneth A. “Kenny” Rose, 88, of Hammondsville, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his winter residence in Zephyrhills, Fla.

He was born November 15, 1934, in Hammondsville, the son of the late Floyd and Hazel (Allmon) Rose. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his son, Matthew F. Rose; and four sisters: Mary Wilken, Doris Cusick, Lula Carson, and Florence Coughen.

Kenny graduated from Irondale High School in 1954, and he served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor for Ohio Edison Sammis Plant before retiring in 1991. Following his retirement, Kenny ran the family farm, 5 Rose Farms, and also worked for Brush Creek Township. He was a lifetime member of Grant Hill Church and was a member of the 348 Salineville Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Patricia L. “Pat” Rose, whom he married in 1957; two sons: Brent Rose of Hammondsville and Greg (Debbie) Rose of Nicholasville, Ky.; and three grandchildren: Liam Rose of Hammondsville, and Phillip Rose and Ashlee Rose of Nicholasville, Ky. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating.

Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery where the Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors and Pastor Irv Hoover of Grant Hill Church will officiate the committal service.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
