Jane D. Walker

EAST PALESTINE — Jane D. Walker, 77, a long-time resident of East Palestine, passed away March 29, 2023, unexpectedly at her home.

Jane was born December 6, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Wayne and Rena Biddlestone.

Jane was a 1963 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, and then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in 1967. She was employed with Austintown Public School District as a Hearing and Speech Pathologist for 30 years prior to her retirement. She was a former member of the Poland United Methodist Church and later joined the Vienna Presbyterian Church. Jane was a 25 year member of the ladies auxiliary of the East Palestine VFW, and also proudly served as past district president of the VFW ladies auxiliary and as 2006 president of the Ohio VFW ladies auxiliary as well as served as a former clerk for the board for Western Reserve Baptist Church.

Jane is survived by her husband of 27 years, Rev. Dr. Barry Walker; a niece, Michele (Keith) Reyes of Silver Springs, Fla., nephew, Jason (Christen) Biddlestone of Galena, Ohio; brother, Glen (Helen) Biddlestone of Westerville, Ohio; step daughter, Beth Stewart of East Palestine; step son, Barry (Loraine) Walker of Bridgeport, NJ; five grandchildren, Benji, Avery Jane, Lucy, Asher and Journey as well as four step grandchildren, Chelsea, Cody, Michael and Sarah and two step great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday April 3, 2023, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Susan Holly officiating. All other services will be private.
