EAST PALESTINE -- Millard D. "Skip" Walker, 86, passed away March 5, 2023, at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center in Columbiana.
Skip was born February 16, 1937 in New Brighton, Pa., son of the late Clyde and Doris Anderson Walker.
He resided in East Palestine, but was raised in New Brighton, Pa. Skip worked at Babcock & Wilcox as a crane operator. He also worked many years as a milk truck driver for Beatty Dairy and Wylie Blum Trucking in Negley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking long walks, up to five miles per day. Skip also enjoyed camping with his family, and at one time had built his own camper. He enjoyed going out to dinner but most especially spending time with grandchildren.
Skip is survived by three children, Kim (Joel) Gray of Canton, Steve (Terri) Walker of East Palestine, Dawn (Jay Cook) Newman of East Palestine as well as their mother, Laura Lee Walker; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his uncle and aunt who raised him, Burton and Luella Miller, a sister, Maureen Thompson and a granddaughter, Madelyn Haigler.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. A private burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in New Brighton, Pa.
