Frank Edwin Bell
1957-2023
LISBON –Frank Edwin Bell, affectionately known as Pappy, 66, from Lisbon, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in the ICU at Salem Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Frank was born in Weirton, W.Va., on February 5, 1957. He grew up in Paris, Pa. Frank graduated with the class of 1975 from Burgettstown High School in Pennsylvania. After high school, he attended trade school for certification in welding.
Frank started his career as a welder and advanced to an industrial maintenance technician which he excelled at. He previously worked at Weirton Steel, Steel Built Corp, Fairfield Machine and George Mitchell Company.
Frank had a fun personality. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed mudbogging, driving and offroading his beloved red Jeep Wrangler. He loved cars and motorcycles and spent many days riding. Frank was a hard working man and could fix anything. He liked assembling model cars and airplanes, driving remote control cars and flying remote control helicopters.
Frank was an avid pencil artist who had a knack for drawing cars and the outdoors. You could always catch him doodling when he was sitting at the counter visiting with his family. He liked working in the yard, bonfires and get togethers with the kids, birdwatching, playing pool, and target practice shooting. Frank also liked to prepare food and cook. He very much enjoyed drinking his Busch beer and was always ready for a cold one after a long day of work. Franks favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because he loved to cook, eat, and spend the day with family.
Frank was a great father and grandfather, and he had an especially close bond with his grandchild ‘Hotrod’. Frank will be remembered for his stories of the past, his good cooking, and his love for his family.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Robert Bell, and his brother-in-law Ray McCullough, who was like a father to him.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Donna (Watkins) Bell of Lisbon, his children Jared Malmsberry of Lisbon, Heather (Ryan) Beagle of West Virginia, and Amanda Malmsberry (David McCormack) of Washingtonville. Frank also leaves two grandchildren, Hadley Beagle of West Virginia and Wade Leo ‘Hotrod’ Coil of Washingtonville, his two sisters, Lennis McCullough and Bobbie (Robert) Hoover, and a brother Dennis (Joyce) Bell, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lastly, he leaves behind his beloved beagle Cheyenne, who was his pride and joy.
A time of visitation will be Saturday, April 1, 2023, 3-5 p.m. at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
