Dannie Leigh Fillman Sr.

Dannie “Dan” L. Fillman Sr. passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in Kensington, Ohio following a short illness.

Dan was born on January 15, 1947 in Coshocton the son of Robert and Ella May Fillman. Dan married the love of his life Kathleen Jane Fillman on October 9, 1965. They raised four boys while living in Kensington, Ohio. They loved helping raise their seven grandchildren and were recently blessed with two great-grandchildren. Dan enjoyed watching “Gun Smoke”, playing Euchre, and hosting family game day every Saturday. Dan kept his circle small but would do anything for those in it. Dan worked at Summitville Tile for 40 years, the majority as a supervisor. He then retired from Kopp Clay in 2009

Dan was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed immensely.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ella May Fillman. Siblings Shirley (Dwayne) Sanders, Jim Fillman, and Geraldine (Bill) Monte.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen Jane Fillman of Kensington; children Bob (Lisa) Fillman of Hanoverton, Don Allen Fillman of Richmond, Travis (Carie) Fillman of Kensington, Dannie (Sherry) Fillman of Bergholz. Grandchildren Kaylin (Ryan) Burd of Salem, Kierstin (Steve) McBride of Hanoverton, Preston Riley (Amanda) Fillman of Salem, Paige Fillman of Kensington, Brice Fillman of Bergholz, Autumn Fillman of Kensington, Bailey Fillman of Bergholz. Great-grandchildren Miles Fillman, and Sloane Burd and his loyal dog Chase.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Kensington First Christian Church from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with Gene Hydrick officiating.
