Roy G. Gribben

EAST PALESTINE — Roy G. Gribben, 88, passed away February 6, 2023, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Roy was born April 16, 1934 in Negley, Ohio, son of the late Roy J. Gribben and Lucile DePillo Gribben.

He was a proud navy veteran having served aboard the USS Vulcan during the Korean War.

He worked as a truck driver his entire career for various trucking companies prior to his retirement.

Roy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Melott) Gribben; two exchange students that were thought of as daughters, Isaura Barbuzana of Brazil and Laura Elbert of Colorado as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Gribben and two sisters, Pat Leister and Betty Rowley.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 15, 2023, at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Rev. Robert Rowley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. A private burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
