EAST PALESTINE — John Rockford Bosley Sr., 68, passed away Feb. 23, 2023 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown following a brief illness.

Rocky was born Jan. 5, 1955 in Webster Springs, W.Va., son of the late George and Helen Fincham Bosley.

Rocky was a 1973 graduate of East Palestine High School. He formerly served as the high school soccer coach and was active on the athletic boosters. Rocky also cared for the East Palestine baseball fields for many years. He was employed as a truck driver for 40 years, most recently with Marten Transport. He was a member of the East Palestine Moose Lodge and Eagles Aerie. He also could be seen along with his wife at Shaker Woods and other craft shows selling purses made of vinyl records, and enjoyed the game of golf.

Rocky is survived by his wife Patti Reeves Bosley, whom he has been with for over 20 years; two sons, John (fiancee Christina Phillips) Bosley Jr., Curtis (Alexandra) Bosley of American Fork, Utah; daughter, Natalie (Kris) Hair of Collinsville, Texas; four stepchildren, Michael Strohecker of Columbiana, Tyler (Tyler) Strohecker of Georgetown, Texas, Mary (Calvin) Foster of Gloucester, Va., Elizabeth (Katherine) VanSickle of San Diego, Calif.; three brothers, Dencil (Diane) Bosley, Brad (Cheri) Bosley, Rex Bosley; two sisters, Talva (Joe) Maslach and Virginia (Wayne) Davis; as well as seven grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Cindy Figley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m.
