Charles J. Holenchick Sr.
1943-2023
Charles J. Holenchick Sr. “Bummy”, 80, of Atwater, Ohio, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, at 5:30 a.m. on February 6, 2023, at Hospice House in North Lima with family present.
His joy in life was playing baseball, fishing, raising chickens, and spending time with family and his dog Tilly.
He spent his career as a machinist at NRM in Columbiana and as a maintenance supervisor at Bel Air in Alliance.
He was born in Burlington, W.Va. on September 8, 1943 to Michael and Ruby Holenchick. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lucille Smith, Libby May, and Theresa Houchins and a brother John Holenchick.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl Todd, a brother Bob Holenchick (Dee), his children, Christine Kale, Charles Holenchick Jr. (Candice), Jeffrey Holenchick (Heather), Stepchildren John Todd (Samantha), Heather Grimes (Ron), and James Todd (Ashley), 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Chuck donated his body to NEOMED in Rootstown, Ohio for Research. Please join us in celebrating his life Saturday, February 11 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Salem Eagles located at 1884 North Ellsworth Ave, Salem, Ohio 44460. A dinner reception will be held in his honor.
