Kevin K. Finch

NEW WATERFORD — Kevin K. Finch, 54, passed away January 3, 2023, at UPMC Montefiore following a brief battle with cancer.

Kevin was born November 29, 1968, in New Brighton, Pa., son of the late Clifford and Donna Sheets Finch.

He has resided in New Waterford for a number of years, but was a previous resident of New Galilee, Pa. Kevin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Waterford. He worked as a machinist for over 20 years at Primetals in Cortland. Kevin had been an active volunteer with Crestview Schools and an active member and assistant scoutmaster of Troop 22. He previously served as assistant scoutmaster of Troop 40 and Den Leader of Pack 40. He was a mentor to future Eagle Scouts and a merit badge counselor for cooking and camping. He also was a five-year pipestone holder.

Kevin enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid trout fisherman and hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family on their many adventures, but he was most proud of being a father to his two children.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patti Phillips Finch; son, Nicholas Finch of State College, Pa.; daughter, Donna Finch of New Waterford; three brothers, Clifford (Patricia Peebles) Finch, Jr. of Melbourne, Fla., Eugene (Renee) Finch of Palm Bay, Fla., Gary (Crystal) Finch of New Galilee, Pa.; two sisters, Lisa (Bernard) Mason of East Palestine, Lori (Bryan Linton) Brown of Greenville, Pa.; step brother, Robert (Kathy) Randolph; two step sisters, Debbie Floor and Wendy (Perry) Donnalley all of New Waterford; several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews as well as many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a stepmother, Betty Finch a great-nephew, Ryan Brown and a brother who died in infancy.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Brown officiating.
