Shirley Faye Clemens

SALINEVILLE — Shirley Faye Clemens, 88, passed away Dec. 19, 2022, at Salem West Healthcare Center in Salem.

Shirley was born July 16, 1934, in Silverville, Pa., daughter of the late John and Ruth Whisinger Harbison.

She was a proud U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Shirley received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Service Defense Medal for her honorable service. She spent many years working as a nurse and attended the Madison Trinity Church in West Point, Ohio.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Deane Clemens, whom she married Oct. 23, 1999; son Dean Knestaut; stepson, Willie (Kitty) Clemens; stepdaughters, Linda (Dick) Wilson, Cindy (Bob) Brandt and Kathy (Silvie) Groom; brothers, Jerry (Rita) Harbison, Larry (Dorothy) Harbison, Robert (Barb) Harbison; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death a son, Danny Lee Knestaut; brothers Thomas and Eddie Harbison; and a sister, Sandra Chernisky.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with a service to follow at 2 p.m. A private burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
