Frank ‘Ed’ Rayl

CALCUTTA — Frank “Ed” Rayl, Sr, 77, of Calcutta, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Beaver Medical Center. Frank was born in LaCroft on January 30, 1945, the son of the late Ralph and Leona (Madrid) Rayl. Frank attended East Liverpool High School and lived in the area his entire life.

Frank married Charlene Carroll on June 8, 1963 and they spent the next 59 years making memories together. He was employed as a Crane Operator with LTV-Crucible Steel for 40 years until his retirement in 2004.

Frank was proud to be a former member of the United SteelWorkers Local 1212. He was an avid fisherman and could often be found casting his line at Beaver Creek.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife, Charlene; sons: Doug (Lisa) Rayl, and Frank (Carrie) Rayl, Jr; former daughter-in-law, Jayne Bezeredi, four grandchildren: Jocelyn (Frank) Mader, Cody (Monica) Rayl, Audree Rayl, and great-grandchildren: MacKenzie Mariotti, Murphy Mader, Emersyn, and Brecken Rayl, and Austin and Noah Miner.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son T.J. Rayl.

In keeping with Frank’s wishes, no public visitation will be held. The family will hold a private memorial service.
