SALINEVILLE -- Clarence James "Jim" Loch Jr., 84, of Salineville, Ohio, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Nov. 24 following a brief illness.
Born in East Liverpool June 11, 1938, Jim was the son of the late Clarence and Cleda (Carter) Loch.
Jim lived in Salineville most of his life. He was a member of the Salineville Church of Christ, and he was a graduate of Salineville High School, Class of 1956. Upon graduation, Jim worked on the railroad for 44 years and through many consolidations, retiring in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and golfing. Jim also enjoyed bowling, cooking and his years as a volunteer fireman, past member of Salineville Kiwanis, and was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge of Salineville and a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite of Steubenville. However, more than anything, Jim's real pride and joy in life was his family. He was their biggest cheerleader, fiercest defender, funniest comedian and wisest advisor.
Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce (Brown) Loch, whom he married Aug. 29, 1959, and his three daughters, Tracey (Doug) Reeder, Amy (Mike) Lutz and Marcy (Bob) Zehentbauer. Also left to treasure Pap's memory are four grandchildren, Britnie (Tyler) Baker, Landon (Morgan Rance) Lutz, Riley (Steve) Manypenny and Alexis Zehentbauer; and five great-grandchildren, Tenley and Quinn Baker, Landon Mathes and Sawyer Lutz, and Lawson Manypenny. A sister, Aletha Hanley, also survives him, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his sisters Janice Brothers and Patricia Denick.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful aides, nurses, staff and doctors of Select Specialty Hospital in Boardman for their exceptional care of Jim during his illness.
Funeral Services will be held at the Fellowship of the Beloved Church, 13696 Bethesda Road, Hanoverton, Ohio 44423, on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Lautzenheiser of the church officiating. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Salineville.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Fellowship of the Beloved Church on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with Masonic services being held at 7 p.m.
