WELLSVILLE -- William P. Wilson, 77, passed peacefully at the home of his daughter in Wellsville on Sunday, September 18, 2022, following a lengthy illness. The love of his family surrounded him as he passed.
Bill was born in East Liverpool on August 16, 1945. He was the son of the late Robert Wilson and Harriet Alfred Saltsman.
Before being disabled, Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator. He had been baptized at the Wellsville First Christian Church and he was proud of his service to his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Along with his parents, his wife, LaDonna Wilson, his granddaughter, Amber Dawn Merriman, and his brother, Harold Wilson preceded him in death.
His cherished family includes his daughters, Lori Ross, LaDonna (John) Merriman, and Billie Jo Dickson, all of Wellsville, and Thomas R. Wilson of Salineville, his grandchildren, Brandee Ross, Bradley Merriman, Briana Curtis, William Dickson, Alex Dickson, Joey Dickson, Wesley Dickson, Zachary Merriman, and Amanda Bray, and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, Bill is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Hawk, and Minnie Justice, and his brothers, Bob (Bonnie) Wilson, and Richard (Linda) Wilson of Salineville.
Pastor Mark Blakeley will celebrate Bill's life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Wednesday, September 21, at 3:00 p.m. The National Guard Honor Guard and the VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard will accord full military honors. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.. Private interment will be Thursday at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.
