Judd Evans Griffith
Judd Evans Griffith, having lived an active life, passed away at his home in Sunrise, Fla., July 10, 2022, after a brief illness. Judd was born on Dec. 10, 1951, in Salem, Ohio to the late Byron and Elane (Hiscox) Griffith.
He spent his youth in Lisbon, Ohio and excelled at Little League baseball. Judd was on the outstanding David Anderson High School Blue Devils basketball team, 1970. He earned varsity letters in basketball and golf. Judd graduated from Ashland College in 1974 and completed a postgraduate degree in psychology in 1975 at Kent State University. He was an industrial pump sales representative.
Judd is survived by his son, Joshua Griffith, Suwanee, Georgia, and his daughter Jennifer (Griffith) Pintaluba, son-in-law Federico Pintaluba, and two grandchildren, Coral Gables, Florida. Judd also leaves his sister Stephanie Griffith, Pennsylvania.
Judd participated in the Atlanta Lawn and Tennis Association (ALTA) league and won a T2 Tennis All City Championship with Josh. He also enjoyed biking on greenway trails, playing his guitar, and had a passion for energy healing.
One of Judd’s favorite holidays was Memorial Day. He enjoyed watching his father, Byron, who fought as a Marine in WWII march in the American Legion ceremony. To respect Judd’s wishes, his immediate family will hold a private ceremony, but family and friends may honor Judd in a tribute through the Van Orsdel Funeral Home page, Coral Gables, Fla. Judd managed type 1 diabetes for 47 years, therefore in lieu of flowers, contributions are welcome for the American Diabetes Association.
