Sara J. (Howell) Crawford

Crawford was born Oct. 5, 1937 in Alliance to Blaine and Delphine Howell and had lived in the Knox Township community her entire life.

A 1955 graduate of Alliance High School, Crawford worked in the payroll department at Alliance Machine for 35 years. She later graduated from Mount Union College in 2008 with a major in psychology and minor in sociology and was a substitute teacher for West Branch Local Schools and Robert Bycroft School.

Crawford served over 20 years as a Knox Township trustee, including a term as vice president of the Ohio Township Association. She was also a member of the West Branch Area Ladies Ruritan Club and Mile Branch Grange.

Crawford is survived by her husband, William, who she married June 7, 1959; daughter, Gail, and son, William (Brenda); five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings Jon, Dixie, Blaine, Dennis and Jeffrey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, William, Michael, Ada Dawn and Lewis.

Per her wishes, no funeral service will be held.
