Geraldine Sensanbaugher
Together Again
EAST PALESTINE — Geraldine Sensanbaugher, 82, passed away May 21, 2022, at her home in East Palestine, Ohio.
Geraldine was born October 11, 1939, in New Waterford, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Elmer Garrett and Iva Tamer Lambright Garrett.
Geraldine worked as a nurse’s aide at the old county home and later at the M&W Manufacturing where she worked as a sawer, and later an assembler and packer. After retiring, Geraldine loved to go gambling at Mountaineer and several other casinos for a day of “blinging.” She was very outspoken and never met a stranger. Deanie always had an upbeat attitude on life, full of quips. To describe Dean, would be to say, “she never hurt a fly.” From throwing a spider outside, to mending the broken wing on a wild bird, to hand feeding butterscotch candies while raising a baby deer into a full-grown buck and her love for raising chihuahuas showed her love for animals and where she acquired the nickname, Deanie Dolittle.
She peacefully went home to be reunited with her husband of 59 years, Jack Merle who passed on November 14, 2016, her son Jeff, and our Lord. She will be missed by everyone who met her. She has left an everlasting impression on everyone she spoke to, always bringing a smile to their face when they would hear her name. She was preceded in death by seven brothers; Richard, Raymond, Thomas, James, Dale, Paul, and her twin brother Gerald Garrett and four sisters; Mary E. Jenkins, Donna Huff, Ruth Broadbent, and Gloria Bair.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Paul) Archibald and son Jack (Cheryl) Sensanbaugher, both from East Palestine. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Rankin of New Waterford, and Marjorie Shafer of East Liverpool, eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. The Family will receive friends one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
The Family wishes to thank the staff of Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice for all the loving care their mother received.
