Clifford O. Schmidt
EAST PALESTINE — Clifford O. Schmidt, 77, a lifelong resident of Negley and East Palestine, passed away March 15, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.
Clifford was born January 3, 1945 in Salem, Ohio, son of the late Eugene “Hap” and Susan Faulk Schmidt.
He was employed at Insul for 43 years serving in various positions prior to his retirement. He was a member of the East Palestine Moose Lodge and enjoyed attending local classic car shows and spending time traveling and going on day trips with his wife.
Clifford is survived by his wife of seven years, Edith “Edie” Schmidt; a son, Cliff (Julie) Schmidt of Columbiana; two daughters, Terri (Doug) Ackerman of Rathdrum, Idagi, Michelle (William) Swagger of Libby, Mont.; adoptive daughter, Cindy Sell of Negley; seven grandchildren, Jessica, John, Drake, Frank, Amanda, Cerria and Andrea, as well as five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Schmidt; two brothers, Eugene “Dutch” Schmidt and Frank Schmidt and a sister, Glenna Dagarin.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. No other services will be observed at this time.
