Lola I. Mercer
ROGERS — Lola I. Mercer, 86, a lifelong resident of Rogers, passed away peacefully January 30, 2022 at her residence.
She was born April 3, 1935 in Signal, OH, daughter of the late Robert and Wilma Dickey McMillen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thurman Mercer, two brothers, Robert and Elmer, two sisters, Ellen and Bertha and two great granddaughters, Sierra and Brianna Buckius.
Lola is survived by her brother, Arnold (Francis) McMillen of East Palestine; two daughters, Dianna Jackson of East Palestine and Patricia (Jim) Wolfe of East Palestine; two sons, Robert (Michelle) Mercer of Rogers and Thomas (Lorie) Jackson Mercer of Columbiana; twelve grandchildren, Vickie Jackson, Edward Jackson, James Jackson, Melissa (Ray) Davis, Christina (Chris) Johnson, James (Brittany) Buckius, Ashley Mercer, Brandon Mercer, Robert Mercer, Jr., Thomas “T.J.” Mercer, Stephanie Mercer and Courtney Mercer as well as 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 -8 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. A private burial will follow at East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers.
Following services, the family will receive friends for a dinner at the Middleton (Negley) Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Memorial donations may be made in Lola’s name to the Community Hospice 2341 East State Street, Unit B, Salem, OH 44460 or to the Middleton fire department PO Box 303 Negley, OH 44441.
The family wishes to thank Tom, Amanda and Marsha with Community Hospice for all the care they showed to Lola.
