Keith L. Dole
Keith L. Dole, age 86 of Leetonia, Ohio went to be with the Lord peacefully on October 28th at his home. Keith was born in Salem, Ohio on February 28, 1935 to Clarence K. and Norma (Raymond) Dole. He is preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Melvin Dole.
Living most of his childhood in Salem, he moved to Bowling Green, Ohio where he graduated from high school. After moving back to Salem, he met the love of his life, Ellene Marie (Miller) Dole, and they were married on July 7th, 1956. Besides his beloved wife of 65 years, Keith is survived by 5 children and 2 grandchildren that they had the privilege to raise in their home: Glenda Knight, Joyce Dole, Duane (Patsy) Dole, Bruce (Kim) Dole, Christine Dole Kinsey, Stephanie (Nick) Johnston, and Aaron Dole. He is also survived by 13 other grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren and many devoted brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces & nephews.
Keith retired in 1998 after 41 years of dedication to National Refractory in Columbiana, Ohio. He loved sports including hunting, fishing, hiking, bowling, and golf. He was proud to coach his children’s little league baseball teams and continued to attend area high schools sporting events throughout his life.
Keith’s heart for sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others was evident in how he lived. Whatever situation he was in he saw as an opportunity to share the gospel. His life journey is paved with many relationships of those who came to know Christ and to grow in Christ through Keith’s gift of evangelism. Keith helped to facilitate the monthly Men of Faith Breakfast. Teaching for Evangelism Explosion, Keith taught others how to share their faith in a non-threatening, personal way, building relationships one person at a time. He was a previous member of the Leetonia Ruritans. He was a member of Promise Keepers and a founding member of Men’s Rally in the Valley. Keith was a member at Real Life Assembly of God, Salem, Ohio. He also attended Faith Chapel Fellowship, Salem, Ohio.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Hope Christian Fellowship (formally Crossroads) 1900 N. Ellsworth Street, Salem, Ohio, 44460. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Men’s Rally in the Valley, C/0 Bing Newton, 39226 St. Rte. 558, Leetonia, Ohio 44431 or an evangelistic ministry of your choice.
