Brenda D. Korchnak

Brenda was born November 20, 1950 in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late Thomas and Peg Wimer Michalak.

She was a 1969 graduate of Crestview. Brenda worked for Praxair in Struthers for 13 years prior to her retirement in 2018. She was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church. Brenda enjoyed traveling, taking walks, reading and most especially, her joy was giving to others and spending time with her grandchildren.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 21 years, Stephen Korchnak; five children, Jill Matulja of California, Jodie (John) Grazier of Mineral Ridge, Meggan (Daren) Goehring of Ashtabula, Richard (Johnna) Matulja of Athens, Thomas (Carrie) Matulja of Aliquippa, Pa.; stepdaughter, Dee (Paul) Franke of Boardman; sister, Linda Schloneger of Columbiana; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

Brenda was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Ricky Matulja and a brother-in-law, Lowell Schloneger.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A private burial will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford at a later date.
