Salem — Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency room at 2:03 a.m. Friday in reference to an assault. The victim reported at approximately 10:30 p.m. that night he was walking in the east/west alley in the area of East Third Street and Vine Avenue when he was caught by surprise by a man who struck him in the right eye and mouth, causing large lacerations. The victim also suffered a severely swollen eye along with fractures around it. The victim did not know who assaulted him. Sheriff Reports — Deputies responded to state Route 45 in Wellsville for a domestic dispute at 1:46 a.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to a woman who advised that Ronald Knight, 51, state Route 45, Wellsville, struck her in the face several times and spit on her. The victim had injuries consistent with her statement. Knight was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
