Salem — Officers responded to the 900 block of Home Circle at 10:42 p.m. Sunday in reference to a neighbor dispute in which the caller reported her neighbor was harassing her. Officers spoke with both residents and told them to stay away from each other and were each trespassed from the other’s property. — Edward Rice, 22, Marion, Ohio, was cited for a red light violation following a two-vehicle crash at North Ellsworth Avenue and West State Street in which he was southbound and fell asleep at the wheel, striking a westbound vehicle driven by John Zamora, 55, Salem. Salem — Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency room at 2:03 a.m. Friday in reference to an assault. The victim reported at approximately 10:30 p.m. that night he was walking in the east/west alley in the area of East Third Street and Vine Avenue when he was caught by surprise by a man who struck him in the right eye and mouth, causing large lacerations. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to a woman who advised that Ronald Knight, 51, state Route 45, Wellsville, struck her in the face several times and spit on her. The victim had injuries consistent with her statement. Knight was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
