Sheriff’s Office — Deputies at 10:36 p.m. Tuesday investigated a report of a 5-year-old child showing up alone at the Duke and Duchess gas mart on U.S. Route 62 in Knox Township without any adult supervision. The child reportedly arrived with no shoes on and no shirt and was unable to clearly identify his parents or provide any contact information. After a thorough investigation, it was determined the child lived substantially west of the location and left home without his parents knowing, walking down a very busy U.S. Route 62 by himself.
