Sheriff's Office

-- An anonymous caller at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday reported a young girl yelling for help at a residence on Shady Lane Road, Center Township. Deputies spoke with everyone at the residence, including juveniles, and could not locate any issue.

-- A man on Glasgow Road, Madison Township reported at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday that his father has some of his property. He was told to contact an attorney.

-- Deputies were dispatched at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday to Hartley Road, Knox Township for a person making suicidal threats. Sebring EMS transported the person to a hospital in Stark County.

-- Deputies were dispatched at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday to Hilltop Drive, Center Township to investigate an alleged complaint of domestic violence. A woman reported her live-in partner threw her to the ground and kicked her. She eventually fled the residence and contacted the sheriff's office from a remote location. An investigation was conducted and evidence collected, with a warrant for an arrest later issued.

-- A man on U.S. Route 62, Knox Township reported at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday that he has an active protection order against another man and that man drove by his residence in his vehicle blowing the horn.

-- An unruly juvenile was reported at 3:31 p.m. Wednesday on Holmeswood Drive, Butler Township.

Highway Patrol

-- Jonathan Beveridge, 22, Hamilton Road, East Palestine, was cited for reasonable control after his westbound vehicle traveled off of state Route 46 in New Waterford and overturned at 12:35 a.m. Oct. 7. He suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported by Columbiana EMS to St. Elizabeth Boardman.

-- Jeremiah W. Gallaher, 25, West Grant Street, East Palestine, was cited for reasonable control after his southbound vehicle traveled off of the right side of Brookdale Avenue in Unity Township and struck a mailbox and utility pole before coming to rest. No injury was reported.

-- Larry A. Stollenwerk, 28, Beaver Falls, Pa., was cited for a brake equipment violation after his brakes failed on his westbound vehicle and he tried to swerve but struck another westbound vehicle on state Route 154 driven by Richard A. Beeson, 35, Canfield, who was attempting to make a turn at 4:49 p.m. Oct. 5 in Middleton Township. No injuries were reported by either driver or two passengers in the Stollenwerk vehicle.

-- The Lisbon post was investigating a hit/skip with no identified driver at 2:49 a.m. Oct. 4 on state Route 558 in Salem Township. The report said the car identified as a Ford Fusion owned by an Akron woman was northbound on state Route 558 when it traveled off of the road and struck a ditch. The driver was listed as unknown, but three passengers were identified on the report, with two from Mogadore and one from Akron. They weren't injured. The car was towed from the scene.

Salem

-- A possible threat was reported in the 1500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised they were being threatened by phone and that an ex-boyfriend may be on the way to their residence. They did not want a police response or charges but requested the incident be documented. An extra watch was placed on the residence.

-- Officers spoke with a parent at the police department about their child stealing around $100 from their sibling at 6:46 p.m. Wednesday. Officers advised them that the matter was civil and that nothing could be done legally.

-- A group of unsupervised juveniles was reported in the area of Hawley Avenue and East State Street at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with the juveniles' mother, who was watching their child learn how to ride a bike.

-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:02 p.m. Wednesday about their personal information possibly being compromised. They were provided with the options for dealing with the situation.

-- Threats were reported in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised he was trying to buy firewood on Facebook marketplace, and a person had threatened him. Officers reviewed the text messages and found that no threats were actually made.

-- A hit and skip was reported in the 100 block of Columbia Street at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised that his vehicle had been struck by an unknown man on a bicycle causing damage from the front door to behind the rear tire and that the other driver fled the scene when they said they were calling police. No injuries were reported.

-- Officers were flagged down in the 900 block of West State Street at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday by a person regarding alleged issues over a phone number. Officers advised them that the issue appeared to be a civil matter and that they may wish to contact an attorney.

-- A dispute was reported in the 2400 block of East State Street at 12:44 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised they'd had a dispute with a person in the parking lot that had continued inside of a local business. Officers reviewed video footage of the confrontation and found nothing physical had occurred and advised the caller the incident would be documented with a report.

-- Judy Pike, 83, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after her vehicle struck the side of a vehicle driven westbound by Richard Rhodes, 71, Lisbon, when pulling out of a private lot in the 2400 block of East State Street at 12:24 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.

-- A suspicious object was reported in the 2300 block of East Pershing Street at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday. Officers located the object and removed it from the roadway.

-- Officers assisted the fire department with a medical emergency in the 1900 block of Maple Street at 10:33 a.m. Wednesday.

-- Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 10:17 a.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. The caller advised that a man had placed several items into his pants pockets and left the store without paying. The man left prior to officers' arrival and officers will attempt to locate them.

-- Officers checked on a man reportedly lying in an alleyway in the 500 block of East Perry Street at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday. The man admitted to using narcotics and wanted to be transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for medical attention. The man and his girlfriend's information were passed on to the peer support team. They were also trespassed from the residence.

-- Officers attempted to deliver a message for the Columbiana County Municipal Court in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 9:01 a.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with a family member of the person in question, and they were advised to contact the police department or the court.
