-- A fight in progress was reported in the 300 block of West Fourth Street at 11:21 a.m. Friday. Officers spoke with the parties involved and determined that they had been involved in a verbal dispute which had turned physical. Neither party wanted to pursue the matter.

-- A person to be removed was reported at a business in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 8:23 p.m. Thursday. The person gathered their belongings and left without incident.

-- Officers on patrol in the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 11:12 p.m. Thursday. K-9 Fero was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor from the vehicle and a probable cause search located contraband. The passenger of the vehicle, Vanessa Bates, 34, Salem, was taken into custody charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Columbiana County Jail. The driver, Judson Edling, 40, Salem, was cited for fictitious plates.

-- An intoxicated person was reported at a business in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 8:41 p.m. Thursday. The caller advised that an intoxicated driver had struck the building and attempted to fight a bartender. Officers found that the woman, Sherri Wallace, 38, Salem, was at the bar with her husband, who was working as a DJ and had an argument with the bartender. Wallace then allegedly attempted to leave the bar in her vehicle and attempted to run over the bartender with her vehicle, striking two concrete barrier posts in the process. Wallace was cited for OVI and reasonable control and taken to the police department for further testing. She was later transported to her residence with a court summons.

-- A juvenile problem was reported in the 100 block of South Union Avenue at 7:38 p.m. Thursday. The caller advised their juvenile son had gotten angry and took his father's phone and spit on him. Officers advised them that the matter would be documented for further court proceedings that they are pursuing.

-- A juvenile issue was reported in the 100 block of South Union Avenue at 5:17 p.m. Thursday. The caller advised that their juvenile son was on diversion in the county and had not come home when they were supposed to, and requested the matter be documented with a report.

-- A domestic dispute was reported in the 300 block of West Pershing Street at 3:54 p.m. Thursday. Officers found that the matter was part of ongoing behavioral issues with a juvenile and advised the parents to call back if the juvenile causes any unruly issues through the night.

-- A person was reportedly trespassing on a property and approaching a bicycle as though they intended to take it in the 400 block of Vine Avenue at 2:10 p.m. Thursday. The man in question fled when confronted by a resident that was outside nearby. Officers checked the area and surrounding block but did not locate the person.
