-- A deputy responded at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday to a residence on James Drive to conduct a welfare check and was met by the person's mother, who took the deputy to the person's room, where he advised he was okay and just not feeling himself due to an injury. The deputy advised him to call if any issues arise.

-- A woman on Westville Lake Road, Knox Township reported at 6:11 p.m. Wednesday that she was scammed out of $2,900 from a person claiming to be from her bank.

-- A custody issue was reported at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday by a man from Latta Road, Unity Township, who said he went to pick up his children at their mother's residence on Hadley Road, Unity Township, and she wouldn't give the children to him.

-- A man from Sunrise Drive, Hanover Township, called at 1:21 p.m. Wednesday to report he purchased $1,300 in Pokemon cards on eBay over two months ago and he's being told by eBay the Pokemon cards were already delivered to his residence, which he said they were not.

-- A deputy at 10:52 p.m. Tuesday found an open door at the front entrance of Damascus Friends Church, Walnut Street, Butler Township. The door was secured and all other doors and windows were secure at ground level.

-- Deputies responded at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday to state Route 172, Center Township for a reported assault. Both parties said there were no injuries and were checked for injuries, with deputies finding none. The woman requested to be checked by EMS, due to being pregnant, but then said she would just drive herself to the hospital. The man wanted her trespassed from the property due to her not living there. She was told she was trespassed and was escorted off the property after gathering her belongings.

Highway Patrol

-- Brandon M. Steed, 34, Barnesville, was cited for reasonable control after the westbound truck he was driving on Georgetown Road in Knox Township struck an overhead bridge at 12:52 p.m. Aug. 18. No injury was reported.

-- Troopers investigated a hit/skip accident at 7:07 p.m. Aug. 17 in Hanover Township where it appeared a northbound vehicle went off the right side of U.S. Route 30 and struck a pole. The vehicle and driver were unknown.

-- Jeremy R. Augustein, 18, Alliance, was cited for a stop sign violation after his southbound vehicle on Valley Road went though the stop sign and was struck by an eastbound vehicle on Georgetown Road driven by Mitchell S Schrecengost, 29, Youngstown at 8:13 p.m. Aug. 16 in Butler Township, with the Augustein vehicle traveling off of the road and striking a ditch. No injuries were reported.

-- Nicholas M. May, 25, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, was cited for reasonable control after his southbound vehicle struck a guardrail on Steubenville Pike Road at 2:58 p.m. Aug. 15 in Wayne Township. No injury was reported.

-- An accident involving an unknown driver in Madison Township remained unsolved from 7:01 p.m. Aug. 14 on state Route 11 when a southbound vehicle lost its front wheel assembly and ran off of the road. The vehicle was titled to a woman in South Carolina.

-- Cloey K. Gillespie, 25, Prospect Street, Salem, was cited for improper turn after her northbound vehicle turned left on Lisbon Road and struck a stopped eastbound vehicle on Butcher Road driven by Barbara A. Duke, 55, Jersey Ridge Road, Salem, at 7:34 a.m. Aug. 14 in Salem Township. Both drivers suffered suspected minor injuries, but weren't transported.
