Sheriff's Office

-- A man on Miller Road, Elkrun Township reported a case of trespassing at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday, saying that his daughter was using a vehicle belonging to a Lisbon man that was parked in the driveway and the owner came to the residence and got it.

-- A man on state Route 172, West Township reported at 3:40 p..m. Wednesday that his son sent him multiple text messages that he will call the sheriff and make false accusations if he does not buy him a vehicle. He also called his place of employment and made the same statements to staff. The man said he just got off work and he's going to be staying in Carroll County for the night.

Highway Patrol

-- Two drivers were cited after a four-vehicle accident at 5:04 p.m. Aug. 11 in Knox Township on U.S. Route 62. The four vehicles were all eastbound when a vehicle driven by Brenda L. Gaver, 68, West Ohio Avenue, Sebring stopped due to a motorcycle slowing to make a right turn into a business. A vehicle behind Gaver driven by Morgan R. Goldner, 30, Warren, also slowed but was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Julina K. Chidester, 23, Alliance, whose vehicle was then struck by a vehicle driven by Stacey A. McClain, 56, Eastlake Road, Lisbon. As a result, the Chidester vehicle was pushed further into the Goldner vehicle, causing the Goldner vehicle to strike the Gaver vehicle. Chidester was cited for assured clear distance. McClain was cited for assured clear distance and operating a vehicle impaired. She suffered a suspected minor injury, but wasn't transported. Golder suffered a possible injury but wasn't transported.

-- Codey A. Mobley, 31, Center Street, Wellsville, was cited for left of center after his southbound car traveled left of center, striking a northbound truck driven by Patrick Lee Wright, 55, Swickard Street, East Liverpool, then a parked vehicle owned by Sandra K. Smith of Wellsville at 8:15 p.m. July 28 on Mill Street in Wellsville.

-- A hit/skip was reported at 2:51 p.m. July 27 when Barbara A. Mick, 76, East Liverpool, was stopped at a red light on Dresden Avenue, East Liverpool when struck from behind by a vehicle which fled the scene north. No injury was reported.

-- Donald Hahlen, 82, Butler Grange Road, Salem, was cited for right of way when his vehicle entered state Route 172 from East Alley and was struck by a westbound vehicle on state Route 172 driven by Meghann E. Cook, 47, state Route 172, Lisbon at 8:38 a.m. July 27 in Hanover Township. Hahlen suffered a suspected minor injury.

Lisbon

- William Denoon, 65, Bergholz, was charged with OVI and marked lanes following a traffic stop at Pritchard and High streets at 10:18 p.m. Aug. 2.

- Nicholas Sherrill, 25, Negley, was charged with OVI and a license plate lights violation following a traffic stop on Lee Avenue near Jefferson Street at 3:17 a.m. Aug. 1.

- Melissa Fuller, 55, Stratton, Ohio, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on North Market Street at 2:46 p.m. July 30 in which was a passenger and found with a backpack containing a digital scale, glass pipe with burn marks and burnt Chore boy stuffed inside. She also provided a vial containing what she admitted as crack from her clothing.

Leetonia

- A West Main Street Extension resident reported at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday that workers of a company in the area were trespassing on her property and stealing water from her pond. An officer spoke with the manager and advised the employees cannot go on the property and to get water from across the street.

- Clyde Harris, 65, Leetonia, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct while intoxicated after officers responded to a 300 block East High Street home at 9:06 p.m. Aug. 9 in reference to his allegedly attempting to make entry at a home where his soon-to-be ex-wife was staying while looking for his wallet. Harris had been told earlier in the night that his wife did not have his wallet and to not attempt contact with her.

- An officer responded to the 300 block of Somer Street at 7:44 p.m. Aug. 9 in reference to an unresponsive person and found the individual lying unconscious on the ground. The individual was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

- Dispatch reported at 1:40 p.m. Aug. 8 someone had been bitten by a dog at a 100 block Main Street home and was at the Urgent Care in Columbiana. An officer responded to the home and spoke with dog's owner who said she would provide paperwork for the dog. A report was given to the Columbiana County dog warden.

- An officer at 11:43 a.m. Aug. 7 assisted a resident who had fallen outside village hall prior to paying a bill and reported feeling dizzy. The resident was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.

- An officer responded to the 100 block of Walnut Street at 8:40 p.m. Aug. 6 where a caller reported her juvenile daughter was staying with a juvenile friend and they were approached by a strange man while walking her dog at Wick Park. The officer was unable to find the man in question.

Perry Township

-- Officers assisted the Salem Police Department with a report of a man with a firearm in the area of Newgarden Avenue near Arch Street at 12:37 a.m. Sunday. Officers searched the man who was found returning to the residence was surrounded and detained while being evaluated by EMT. Officers stood by until the man was transported to a medical facility for further evaluation.

-- Officers stood by with a person while they fed their animals and gathered belongings from a residence in the 9700 block of Salem Warren Road at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. The man had received a text they felt was concerning and was afraid to be alone at the residence.

-- A juvenile experiencing a mental episode was reported in the 1100 block of Liberty Street at 6:44 p.m. Saturday. Officers spoke with the juvenile and once he was calmed down, he was transported by EMT for evaluation.

-- An object striking a residence was reported in the 1400 block of West State Street at 11:09 p.m. Friday. An apple had been launched from the roadway and struck the side of the residence.

-- A domestic dispute was reported in the 2200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:49 a.m. Friday. The caller advised that they'd had a dispute with their husband over his phone being shut off and that he had spit on her. The caller requested a report on file.

-- A person with an active warrant was reported in the 1400 block of West State Street at 7:37 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the mother who claimed that the man had not been around for a week.

-- A cow in the roadway was reported in the 1400 block of Jennings Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday. Officers stood by until the animal's owner responded and secured them.

-- A civil complaint was reported in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised that a person had come to the residence looking for their property. They further advised that the property was not at the residence and that they wanted them trespassed. Officers spoke with the person in question advising him that the disputed property was a civil issue and that he was trespassed from the residence.

St. Clair Township

-- Officers were called to Sheetz by the gas station's security team on Aug. 3 for a vehicle in the drive thru with a female riding on the hood. When officers arrived, they were told the vehicle had just left and pulled into McDonalds. Officers found the vehicle at McDonalds and talked to the occupants asking if they were just at Sheetz to which they said yes, they were at the drive thru copying a Tic Toc challenge by ordering their food and paying for it from the hood of the vehicle. Officers told them they could not do that, and they are not to do that again.

-- Officers spoke with a manager at Boost Mobile who accused employees of taking money out of the cash register but was unable to provide proof of it on Aug. 3.

-- A female called the police station on Aug. 3 to report her ex, who was released from jail on July 28, was violating a protection she has on him by texting a household member staying with her son in the residence and she noted his bond agreement states he cannot contact any household member in the residence and that she is not staying at the residence due to being in fear of him. The officer emailed a statement form for her to fill out send back with the bond agreement and text message.

-- A female called to file a report after being alerted on Aug. 3 by Capital One of a possible fraudulent charge on her credit card. She said Capital One told her two charges were made on her account on Aug. 2 to an online clothing store. She noted Capital One is investigating, and she wants a report on file.

-- An officer requested a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) be issued to the surrounding area and states on Aug. 4 for a homicidal and suicidal male in relation to a case being conducted by another officer.

-- An officer investigating an aggressive dog compliant at a Gipner Avenue residence on Aug. 4 made contact with the owner of the property where the dog was staying and was told by the property owner that the dog belonged to a Reve Mccullough, who was staying at the residence. Mccullough was found to have an active warrant and placed in handcuffs. Mccullough told officers she needed medical attention for an infected finger. Mccullough was released to North Star for treatment after the officer called to see if the sheriff's office had someone available to sit with her at the hospital, which they did not.

-- An officer spoke with a female by phone on Aug. 5 who was calling to report finding a suspicious black garbage bag packaged on the steps of the Tri State Christian Church while attending a Bible study. She said the package had a note that read "God forgive Me." The female said a pair of scissors and a pop was beside the package which she opened and inside was dirt and broken glass.

-- An officer stopped a vehicle with two people in it who were fleeing Walmart loss prevention on Aug. 5 after stealing and concealing 32 items totaling $50.96 in a backpack. Loss prevention pointed out the vehicle to the officer who stopped the vehicle. The male identified as Paul Beaver, 36, after being read his Miranda Rights admitted to stealing the items while the female identified as Marlane Polojac, 24, knew he was doing it. Both were taken into custody, transported to the police station for processing and released with a court summons. Beaver was charged with petty theft and Polojac with charge with complicity to conspire with another.

-- Brian Stowers was taken into custody on Aug. 5 and charged with aggravating menacing after family members reported him to be on the porch of his Annesley Road residence with a gun threatening to harm a family member.

-- Officers spoke with a female at her Pugh Road residence told them on Aug. 6 that she was having trouble with the person she lived in a duplex next to in Lisbon before moving to Calcutta. The female said the male broke into her apartment three days prior and runs by her apartment. The officer spoke to the female's son by phone and he told them she randomly goes through these episodes where she believes this male is trying to get her. North Star arrived at the residence and spoke to the female who refused to go to the hospital and did not appear to be a danger to herself or others.

-- Officers spoke with a male on Aug. 7 who said he was cutting his grass when he found several nails in his McCoy Avenue yard, and he didn't know who threw them there.

- A male spoke to an officer requesting a report on a file regarding an ATM on St. Clair Avenue eating $200 of his money while he was making a deposit on Aug. 1.

- Robert Beresford, 41, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence after officers responded on Aug. 1 to a Park Way residence after speaking to his ex-girlfriend who reported he became aggressive while she was dropping their son off.

- Officers investigating a report of a female possibly in distress at a Lincoln Street residence on Aug. 2 spoke to the female who said she was at her boyfriend's house and was locked out. The boyfriend came outside and told officers she kept trying to start arguments with him, and he wanted her to leave.

- An officer investigated an Aug. 2 complaint of a male yelling at customers at Bruster's and then getting into a truck and yelling at two females which officers found to be his juvenile daughter and his girlfriend. After the male was placed in cuffs and put in a cruiser so officers could talk to the female, they told officers that he was arguing with the juvenile's uncle who was there but left to avoid an altercation and the male felt as though the uncle was being disrespectful which is what caused him to start screaming. When the girlfriend didn't want to take any action, the male was released.
