Sheriff's Office
-- A woman on state Route 45, Madison Township, reported at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday that her neighbor keeps coming to her front door asking for a ride. A deputy spoke with the man and told him to have no contact with the woman.
-- A Hanover Township resident on Shore Lane Drive reported at 7:01 p.m. Wednesday that his ex-girlfriend, of Center Township, is posting information about him on Facebook. He was advised to contact the Facebook administrator and an attorney.
-- Deputies responded to a welfare check requested at 1:17 a.m. Wednesday on Freeman Road, Center Township regarding a person who left many chat groups and the last message was concerning. Deputies made contact with family members. The person was not home. Deputies checked the area and eventually checked the woods with family members, with the person found in the woods with no flashlight, advising his phone's battery died and he was trying to find his way in the woods with no light. He did not appear to be having a mental health crisis. He was returned home to family members and friends.
-- A shooting complaint was reported at 9:59 p.m. Monday on U.S. Route 30 in West Township where a deputy spoke to a caller who reported unknown people are taking the railroad tracks back to a culvert above the creek and shooting what he believes to be a machine gun. He further advised he believed his storage building was struck by a stray bullet. The building was checked and no damage was found. The deputy checked the area of the culvert and found several spent casings of 9mm, .22 and .223 rounds. There was no evidence of who the people may have been. Deputies will continue checking the area.
-- Suspicious activity was reported on North Street, Salineville at 2:50 a.m. July 29 by a neighbor who said a vehicle pulled into the address and honked the horn several times then left. When the neighbor went to the home, the residents didn't come to the door. Contact was made with the resident by a deputy who learned the person in the vehicle was a boyfriend who was angry and left after not getting a response. She said there were no problems and she felt safe. The deputy spoke to the neighbor and then left.
Lisbon
- Richard Short, 58, Lisbon, was cited for public intoxication after officers responded to the 8600 block of Graham Street at 9:27 p.m. July 22 in reference to an intoxicated person lying in the roadway. A resident helped him out of the roadway and officers found that he had previously been warned for public intoxication. Medical personnel responded and found that he was okay other than being severely intoxicated.
- Michael Ashbaugh, 28, Lisbon, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence within 20 years or previous conviction, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and headlight illumination following a traffic stop on Jackson Street at Lincoln Way at 11:26 p.m. July 21.
- Amanda Evans, 40, Berlin Center, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence over .08 grams and left of center following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 1:56 a.m. July 21.
- Seth Dillon, 35, North Versailles Township, Pa., was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence over .08 grams and left of center following a traffic stop on state Route 45 at Beaver Street at 2:59 a.m. July 19
- Michael Harrington, 35, Wellsville, was cited for no motorcycle endorsement and driving under suspension following a traffic stop on North Park Avenue at 12:23 p.m. July 17 in which an officer observed him operating the motorcycle and knew him to have a suspended license.
Columbiana
- Officers responded to the 200 block of Spruce Street at 3 p.m. July 31 in reference to a person experiencing a mental health crisis.
- Connor Silvat, 19, Columbiana, was cited for reckless operation following a traffic stop at East Salem Street and Firestone Avenue at 12:53 p.m. July 28.
Salem
-- A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 4:22 a.m. Friday. Officers spoke with an intoxicated woman inside the vehicle who advised they were attempting to sleep off the alcohol. The woman was able to contact a friend to take her home for the night.
-- A suspicious vehicle was reported at a business in the 700 block of West State Street at 3:31 a.m. Friday. The caller advised that a person was sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers spoke with the man who advised he was just resting after a long drive.
-- A person screaming while walking around Centennial Park was reported at 3:12 a.m. Friday. Officers spoke with the man on Monroe Street, and they advised they were okay and refused medical treatment.
-- A juvenile was reported to have run at a person in the 700 block of East Third Street at 12:26 a.m. Friday. Officers located the juvenile down the road and transported them to their residence due to it being after curfew.
-- Officers conducted a wellness check on a juvenile that allegedly made comments about self-harm to the suicide hotline in the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 7:12 p.m. Thursday. Officers initially checked for the juvenile at Centennial Park unsuccessfully before locating them at home. The juvenile was transported to Akron Children's Hospital in Boardman by EMT.
--A juvenile problem was reported in the 1200 block of Mound Street at 5:06 p.m. Thursday. Officers were advised that an adult man was sending text messages to a 13-year-old female. Officers found that the juvenile had met the person on SnapChat and that they possibly live in Texas. The family was advised of their options for handling the situation.
-- A juvenile problem was reported in the 300 block of South Madison Avenue at 4:28 p.m. Thursday. The caller advised they were picking up their 8-year-old daughter from their mother's house, but the juvenile was throwing a fit and would not get into the car. Officers spoke with the mother and the juvenile and after speaking with the juvenile they got into the vehicle without issue.
-- A medical call was reported in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 2:58 p.m. Thursday. The fire department transported the man for additional treatment.
-- Alejandra E. Cabrera, 26, Salem, and Andrea E. Cabrera, 25, Salem, were both charged with domestic violence after officers responded to their home at 2:29 p.m. Thursday in reference to domestic dispute and found the sisters had been in a verbal argument that turned physical. Both women had injuries to their face, hands and neck. Both women declined medical attention.
-- Christopher Martin Chadwick, 27, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant for obstruction out of Columbiana County after officers responded to his home at 2:04 a.m. Thursday to serve the warrant.
-- Brian Spencer III, 20, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant for failure to appear out of Columbiana County after officers observed him in the 2700 block of East State Street at 11:22 p.m. Wednesday and knew he had the warrant for his arrest.
-- An Oak Street resident reported on station at 4:16 p.m. Wednesday her neighbor had been yelling at her earlier in the day and she was in fear for her safety due to several comments the neighbor made.
-- An officer responded to the 300 block of Park Avenue at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday in reference to someone sleeping in hammock in Centennial Park. The officer spoke with the person and advised him he needs permission from the parks department to hang a hammock in the park.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a domestic dispute and found a verbal dispute regarding a juvenile not getting out of bed for an appointment. The juvenile got ready for his appointment and everyone involved agreed to give each other some space.
