-- A resident of Parkview Drive, Yellow Creek Township, reported a suspicious person at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, saying a person on a scooter came to her residence claiming to be an exterminator from Terminex. She told the person to leave her property. She then called Terminex and the company advised they had no one in the area and the person does not work for them.
-- A deputy responded at 5:56 a.m. July 24 to Lowmiller Road, West Township to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol. A man who ran into the address on Lowmiller Road had multiple warrants, but when other units arrived and the premises was checked, he had absconded from the property. The owner of the residence advised the man took his vehicle without his permission earlier in the night and the owner wanted to file charges. A report was completed for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Lisbon
- Dustin T. Whaley, 31, West Chestnut Street, Lisbon, was charged with menacing after officers responded to the 800 block of North Market Street at 9 p.m. Monday where residents reported he had threatened them during a confrontation with his girlfriend regarding a tarp. The incident was captured on video provided to officers.
- Michael Harrington, 35, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, was cited for no motorcycle endorsement, driving under suspension and no taillight following a traffic stop at 12:13 a.m. Sunday. During the stop, a probation officer arrived to assist and arrested Harrington for a probation violation.
- Richard Short, 58, Graham Street, Lisbon, was cited for public intoxication after officers responded to the 8600 block of Graham Street at 9:27 p.m. July 22 where a resident reported finding him lying in the road. Medical personnel responded and advised he was okay other than being severely intoxicated.
- Amanda Evans, 40, Berlin Center, was charged with OVI, OVI breath .08 gram and left of center following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 12:29 a.m. July 21.
- Michael Ashbaugh, 28, Roller Coaster Road, Lisbon, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence within 20 years, improperly handling a firearm and headlight illumination following at traffic stop on Lincoln Way at 11:26 p.m. July 21 in which he was found to have two firearms while allegedly driving intoxicated.
- Seth Dillon, 35, N Versailles, Pa., was charged with OVI, OVI breath .08 gram and improper passing following a traffic stop on Lincoln Way at 12:21 a.m. July 19.
Salem
- An officer responded to the 400 block of Legacy Lane at 11:58 a.m. Monday in reference to two vehicles that had a passenger side window broken out between 12:30 and 1 a.m. Friday.
- An officer responded to the 700 block of Summit Street at 8:34 p.m. Sunday where a resident reported several instances of people walking onto her property and attempting to open the door of her home. The officer advised the resident to keep her doors locked at all times and to call back if someone returns. The officer collected camera footage of the incidents.
- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 3:24 p.m. Sunday in reference to a request for an ambulance and found a woman who wanted to be taken to the hospital. Salem Fire Department first responders transported the woman to the hospital.
- Crystal R. Hoskinson, 34, Salem, was arrested on a warrant after officers responded to a 300 block Penn Avenue home at 12:01 p.m. Sunday for a warrant check. Officers also found possible narcotics at the home.
- A South Howard Avenue resident reported at 5:37 a.m. Sunday possible threats made against her boyfriend. The resident was advised of options for dealing with the situation.
- Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 4:40 a.m. Sunday where a resident reported hearing a struggle in the upstairs apartment along with someone yelling for help. Officers forced entry into the apartment in question and found someone overdosing from drug use. The person was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation.
- Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 7 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported a neighbor dumping several bags of garbage in his yard. Officers spoke with the resident who said he had moved the bags of garbage out his yard and onto his stairs. The matter will be forwarded to the housing department.
- Kaden Robert Bandy, 24, Homeworth, was cited for failure to yield from private property following a two-vehicle crash in the 2200 block of East State Street at 1:57 p.m. Saturday in which he was driving from a private drive and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Christopher Michael Hostetter, 51, Salem. No injuries were reported.
- Shane Laflame, 25, Ravenna, was charged with criminal trespass after officers responded to a 500 block South Broadway Avenue business at 1:17 a.m. Saturday where the manager provided video footage of Laflame going through the parking lot, getting into a dispute with customers and attempting to spit on someone.
- Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:58 p.m. Friday where a caller reported his neighbor had taken his bicycle that was left outside. Officers contacted the neighbor, who said he took the bicycle because the caller owed him $55. Officers advised that is a civil issue and the neighbor returned the bicycle.
- A Steubenville resident reported at 11:56 a.m. Friday an alleged sex offense that occurred in the city in 2020. An officer collected the information for documentation.
- Sophia McDonald, 19, Valley Road, Salem, was arrested on a warrant out of Columbiana County following a traffic stop in the 100 block of West State Street at 11:19 p.m. July 23 for a marked lanes violation.
