Sheriff's Office
-- A man on state Route 7, Madison Township, called at 5:52 p.m. Saturday to report he was towing a vehicle off of his property that was parked there. The vehicle belonged to a Wayne Bridge Road, Center Township resident.
-- A deputy stood by for traffic control at 4:02 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of northbound lane of Cunningham Road, Salem Township, for a vehicle that ran out of fuel. The driver was able to obtain some fuel and was on their way.
-- A deputy was dispatched at 10:05 p.m. Friday to Bayview Drive, Knox Township for multiple gunshots heard in the area. The deputy checked the area but didn't find anyone.
-- A man on Grant Street, Center Township, reported at 7:12 p.m. Friday that someone entered his residence when he was not there. Unknown what was missing, but his pet pig got out of the residence and the Columbiana County Humane Society has the pig. An agent from the county humane society also called at 6:27 p.m. Friday requesting assistance from a deputy at the residence on Grant Street due to the owner of the animals getting irate. The deputy stood by with no issues reported.
-- Deputies were dispatched at 4:41 p.m. Friday to the area of St. Jacob Logtown Road at U.S. Route 30, Center Township for a silver Jeep with a black roof rack and a male driver and female passenger. The female was screaming for help and it appeared the male was assaulting her. Deputies and Lisbon Police checked the area, with no one found.
-- A Knox Township man reported at 3:51 p.m. Friday that a vehicle was parked on the Norfolk Southern Railroad overpass on Hartley Road. A deputy spoke with the person, who was with Halcyon, a taxi service for the railroad and was waiting on crew members from a train.
-- A resident of Hill Street, Center Township reported ATVs were in the roadway making a lot of noise at 10:57 p.m. Thursday.
-- A man from Perry Township reported at 6:55 p.m. Thursday that he rents out a residence on Lisa Lane, Center Township, and after the tenants were ordered evicted out, he came to the residence and found lots of damage and multiple items missing from inside. A deputy had been dispatched to the residence at 5:31 p.m. for a civil matter between a landlord and tenant. The landlord said the woman was moving out and there were no issues.
Highway Patrol
-- Sajan Handa, 26, Hicksville, N.Y., was cited for a lanes of travel violation after his westbound vehicle on U.S. Route 30 drove left of center while negotiating a curve and struck an eastbound vehicle and its trailer driven by Kevin R. Hastings, 43, Medina, at 8:50 a.m. July 25 in Hanover Township. The Hastings vehicle then drove off the right side of the road striking a guardrail. Hastings and his passenger, Sarah N. Hastings, 43, Medina, both suffered suspected minor injuries. Handa was not injured.
-- Sherman L. Griggs, 81, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, was cited for improper towing after the vehicle he was towing with a Chevy Silverado broke free, traveled off of the right side of Elkton Road, struck a tree and overturned at 1:11 p.m. July 23 in Elkrun Township. There were no injuries reported by the driver or his passenger.
-- Madisen T. Palmer, 23, state Route 172, Minerva, was cited for left of center after her northbound vehicle on state Route 9 in Hanover Township traveled left of center and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Austin T. Comer, 25, Girard, at 2:24 p.m. July 19. Neither driver nor their passengers suffered any injuries.
-- East Liverpool Police Officer Flisha Kelsey, 38, suffered a suspected minor injury and was transported by East Liverpool EMS to East Liverpool City Hospital after her police cruiser was stopped westbound on East Sixth Street at Broadway at the traffic light when an eastbound vehicle driven by Donald L. Boyd, 51 Grant Street, East Liverpool, made a left turn from East Sixth Street onto Broadway and was struck by the police car as it drove through the intersection at 12:50 p.m. July 19 in East Liverpool. Boyd was cited for failure to yield.
-- Gregory B. Weingart, 30, Canfield, was cited for reasonable control after his westbound vehicle drove off of the right side of Hoopes Road, striking a ditch and utility pole at 1:23 a.m. July 19 in Butler Township. Weingart and his passenger were not injured.
-- Trey D. Reese, 27, Wood Street, Salineville, was cited for reasonable control after his vehicle traveled off of Walnut Ridge Road in Washington Township and struck a guy wire at 9:55 p.m. July 17. No injury was reported.
-- Kitty D. Morrow, 67, West Eighth Street, Salem, escaped injury after her vehicle caught fire while northbound on McCann Road at 7:07 p.m. July 17 in Hanover Township and became disabled in the road.
Perry Township
-- Jace Dumoulin, 19, Salem, was cited for failure to control and failure to stop after an accident after their vehicle on state Route 9 struck a caution sign, mailbox, and tension wire at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
-- Officers spoke with a person by phone at 12 p.m. Friday regarding a domestic issue. The caller advised their ex-wife had entered their home the night prior at approximately 4 a.m. while they were sleeping and bent their toes back while they were lying in bed. The caller wanted a report on file.
-- A theft was reported in the 1100 block of West State Street at 10:19 a.m. Friday. The caller advised a homeless man had stolen their cell phone and EBT card from their apartment. Officers checked the area but could not locate anyone matching the description given.
-- A dispute regarding payment for contracted work was reported in the 400 block of Country Club Lane at 8:03 p.m. Thursday. The caller claimed that following a dispute over payments the contactor had come to their home and began walking around the property with a sledgehammer stating they were going to rip out an exterior shower they'd installed. The caller advised they'd paid the person, and they had left and requested a report on file.
-- Three juveniles were reported near the roadway on Benton Road at 10:56 p.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with the juveniles who were determined to be runaways and were turned over to a Goshen Township officer.
-- Officers spoke with a person regarding damage to a vehicle in the 600 block of East Pine Lake Road at 5:46 a.m. Wednesday.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department regarding unwanted text messages at 3:26 a.m. Wednesday. Officers advised them to block the number.
-- Officers spoke with a person by phone at 4:11 p.m. July 21 regarding alleged fraud during a property dispute. The caller alleged that his wife called him and told him that she had forged paperwork to get a vehicle titled in her name but did not have any copies of the alleged paperwork at that time. Further investigation is pending.
-- Officers spoke with a woman by phone at 11:04 a.m. July 21 regarding an animal complaint. The caller advised that a neighbor's dogs were coming into their yard and requested an officer speak to the neighbor.
East Liverpool
- Officers responding on July 12 to a May Street residence for a report of a man with a knife outside spoke to the male who was aggravated about the neighbors. Officers did a weapons check on the male and found no weapons. The male was advised to inside and ignore the neighbors and not cause any disturbances outside.
- A traffic stop was conducted on St. Clair Avenue on July 12 for a vehicle being for which a license plate check showed a suspended license. The driver told the officer he should no longer be suspended because he had insurance but was unable to show proof of insurance or a valid license. The vehicle he was driving was towed by First Class Towing.
- A male who has been told multiple times by officers that he cannot be sleeping on the stairs and was previously provided with resources for shelters was again told by officers on July 12 after he was observed sleeping on the steps of AFK Gaming that he could not be living on the steps and was told that he was being trespassed from that location and if he was seen there again he would be charged with criminal trespass and taken to jail.
- Norman Bender, 49, was issued a citation for an open container after officers observed him on July 12 at the Dollar General on Dresden Avenue with an open container inches away from him.
- Officers responding on July 12 to a Green Lane residence for one to be removed were advised the call was due to a verbal argument and the female had already left.
- Officers observing a vehicle parked in an unsafe position on Lisbon Street on July 12 spoke with the occupants and told them to not leave their vehicle in that area to avoid traffic issues after they told the officers they removed a dead groundhog from the road. Officers also advised them if they were going to do something like that to wear proper reflective gear to be seen to avoid any possible safety concerns.
- Barbara Ours, no age or address listed, was issued a citation for no driver's license during a July 12 traffic stop on Jackson Street.
