Sheriff's Office
-- A man who wasn't home reported at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday that he saw on his camera on the outside of his residence a man riding a scooter in his driveway from the road. A deputy checked the property and area, with no contact with anyone.
-- Trespassing was reported at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday at a Votaw Drive, Lisbon property. A deputy spoke to the person who called and also spoke with the alleged trespasser, warning them to stay off of the property. They said they understood.
-- Deputies responded to the area of Middleton Road and Kirk Road in Fairfield Township for a crash alert notification at 2:10 a.m. July 3 from an Apple iPhone. Deputies checked the area and well site and found that one of the workers at the site had dropped their phone and that was the cause of the notification.
-- A deputy responded at 1:40 a.m. July 3 to the area of Homeworth Road, Knox Township for a suspicious person ringing door bells and walking onto front porches. The deputy located a woman matching the description who was identified and was looking for somewhere to stay after getting into an altercation in Alliance at her home. She was told she couldn't be knocking on doors and walking onto strangers' properties at this hour and she needed to go home or to Alliance Police Department, however, she refused. She said she would be fine and walked up U.S. Route 62 toward Alliance.
Highway Patrol
-- Emily M. Lyden, 19, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, was cited for assured clear distance after her northbound vehicle on state Route 7 struck a northbound vehicle driven by David W. Vankirk, 31, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, who was stopped in traffic and then struck another stopped northbound vehicle driven by John D. Moore, 76, Padgett Road, East Palestine at 11:59 a.m. July 11 in Fairfield Township. No injuries were reported.
-- Landon E. Grogg, 31, Walnut Avenue NE, Alliance, was cited for reasonable control after his southbound vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign on Knox School Road and continued through the intersection at Buck Road, striking an embankment and fence post at 12:30 a.m. July 11 in Knox Township. No injury was reported.
-- Frank G. Rubury, 86, Camp Boulevard, Hanoverton, was cited for reasonable control after his eastbound vehicle on U.S. Route 30 drove off the right side of the road while negotiating a curve and struck an embankment, overturning on its side at 11:35 a.m. July 10 in Center Township. Rubury was transported by Northstar EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman for suspected minor injuries.
-- Jacalyn R. Martin, 21, Rochester Road, East Rochester, was cited for reasonable control after her eastbound vehicle on U.S. Route 30 in West Township crossed the center line and was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Raymond B. Leasure, 66, Berry Road NE, Kensington, at 7:56 a.m. July 10. Martin was transported by Sandy Creek EMS to Aultman Hospital Canton for suspected minor injuries. Leasure wasn't injured, but three passengers in his vehicle, Samantha Bradley, 36, Carl Bradley, 50, and a 2-year-old child, all of Kensington, were all taken by Sandy Creek EMS to Cleveland Clinic Mercy for suspected minor injuries.
Columbiana
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of East State Route 14 at 10:48 a.m. July 4 where a complainant reported being followed and harassed by an ex.
-- Charles D. Green, 40, Columbiana, was arrested at 1:03 p.m. June 30 on a warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office.
-- Vincent Delaroza, 26, East Palesteine, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 11:33 p.m. June 28.
-- Early Simko, 31, New Waterford, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 344 near Esterly Drive at 1:39 p.m. June 28.
Leetonia
-- Officers responded to the area of the railroad crossing at state Route 344 and Old State Route 344 at 8:52 p.m. July 5 in reference to man walking alongside the tracks. Officers were advised the sheriff's office was looking for the person in question as being suicidal. Trains were shut down in the area as a precaution until the person's information was found to be incorrect and officers were unable to find him in the area.
-- A Pearl Street resident waved down an officer in the 300 block of Waddell Street at 4:47 p.m. July 4 to report a person she knows had left letters in her mailbox with his contact information and then she noticed him slowly driving by and sometimes parking near her house. The officer spoke with the person in question and advised him not to attempt contact with the complainant or be on her property.
Perry Township
-- A single-vehicle crash was reported in the 1700 block of Cunningham Road at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday. The driver advised that an unknown object had struck his windshield and then struck him in the chest. Officers located the object, a bolt with a nut attached, on the driver's side floorboard, and the fire department responded and provided medical treatment to the driver. The driver was subsequently transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment of his injuries.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday who advised that contractors have been parking in her yard and leaving ruts. The woman showed officers photos of the damage and requested a report be on file.
-- A domestic was reported in the 1300 block of West State Street at 9:45 p.m. Monday. Officers were advised that a father and son had gotten into an argument over a cat, and both had pushed each other. Both parties were advised to stay in their rooms for the rest of the evening.
-- Craig Brandenburg, 62, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his westbound vehicle on state Route 344 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Alexandra Brant, 19, Hubbard, at 7:41 a.m. Monday.
-- Officers spoke with a man at the police department regarding a custody issue at 9:55 a.m. Sunday. They advised their son-in-law was refusing to return their grandchildren to her in accordance with their court order. Officers advised them that the matter was civil, and they would have to return to the court and have the judge file contempt charges.
Salem
-- Officers observed a man standing in the middle of the roadway with his arms out and no shirt on in the area of West State Street and Jennings Avenue at 12:51 a.m. Thursday. The man appeared to be extremely intoxicated, and first responders were contacted to evaluate them. Officers learned that the man had been involved in a incident in Alliance earlier in the evening and was being looked for due to leaving his home while intoxicated and making suicidal threats. The man refused to be transported to the hospital willingly and was instead pink slipped and transported to Alliance Hospital for further evaluation by EMT.
-- Officers conducted a wellness check on a resident in the 1100 block of East Third Street at the request of the Austintown Police Department at 12:07 a.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the residents at the given address and were advised that they did not know the person in question.
-- A person who had previously been trespassed from the property was reported standing on the sidewalk and screaming at the occupants of a residence in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found that the man in question, Dylan Homes, Sebring, was not actually on the property, but did have an active warrant out of Portage County. Holmes was taken into custody and transferred to the custody of a Portage County sheriff's deputy.
-- A fight was reported at a business in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:56 p.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with an individual who claimed that a fight had broken out between two people and that they had been assaulted while attempting to break it up. None of the parties involved wanted to pursue charges, and the victim denied any medical treatment.
-- An assault was reported at a medical facility in the 200 block of Continental Drive at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday. The staff advised that two patients had a physical altercation that led to one being transported to the hospital. Officers collected information about the matter and advised them that it would be documented.
-- Officers checked an abandoned building in the 500 block of East Perry Street for a wanted person at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday. The man, Ryan Romigh, 32, Lisbon, was located inside and taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 block of South Lundy Avenue at 11:41 p.m. Monday. The driver, whose name was not listed, was operating with a suspended license and K-9 Fero alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle. Contraband was located within the vehicle, and the driver was cited for driving under suspension. The matter will be forwarded to the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force for further investigation, and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Kaiser Towing.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department regarding alleged threats of arson at 5:23 p.m. Monday. The person did not have video or audio proof of the threats and was advised to come back to the department if they were able to locate the threats on their security system.
-- A dispute was reported in the 400 block of West Third Street at 3:50 p.m. Monday. The caller advised that a man was at her front door and refusing to leave. Officers determined that the man used to live at the residence and wanted to obtain his property, which the caller had refused to give to them prior to officers' arrival. The man eventually obtained his property and left the residence.
-- Officers spoke with a person in the 800 block of Adams Avenue at the fire department's request at 3:04 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival, the officers were advised that there had been a possible misunderstanding between the person and the fire department. The person in question advised they were on their way to the hospital for their juvenile that was being transported by the fire department.
