Highway Patrol

— Allison Heverly, 26, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, escaped injury after her northbound vehicle struck a cow crossing state Route 9 at 10:14 p.m. June 28 in Butler Township, causing damage to her vehicle.

— Phyllis K. Wilson, 88, state Route 9, Hanoverton, was cited for right of way and suffered suspected minor injuries after her vehicle pulled from a private drive to go north on state Route 9 and was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by Addyson Blazer, 19, state Route 172, East Rochester at 10:15 a.m. June 28 in Hanover Township. Wilson was taken to Alliance City Hospital by Hanover Township EMS. Blazer and her passenger weren’t injured.

— Antonio J. Jordon, 32, Vancouver, Wash., suffered suspected minor injuries and was taken by KLG to East Liverpool City Hospital after his northbound vehicle crossed the center line on state Route 164 and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Constance A. Dysert, 60, Woodland Avenue, Columbiana at 12:48 p.m. June 26 in Center Township. No citation was listed.

— Samantha Beatty, 18, Louisville, was cited for reasonable control and suffered a possible injury after her northwestbound vehicle went off Westville Lake Road and struck a culvert and mailbox before coming back onto the road and going off the other side at 9:26 a.m. June 26 in Knox Township. No injuries were reported.

— Heidi Prine, 53, Taylor Road, Negley, was cited for reasonable control after her northbound vehicle traveled off of Union Ridge Road in Middleton Township at 4:08 a.m. June 26 and struck a utility pole and a tree. No injuries was reported.

— Daniel Patanroi, 49, Ankeny, Iowa, was cited for reasonable control after losing control of his vehicle on a wet road while westbound on U.S. Route 30 in Madison Township at 11:53 a.m. June 26, traveling off of the road and striking a traffic sign post. No injury was reported.

— Deja O. Rizzo, 33, Canton, was cited for reasonable control after his westbound vehicle traveled off of state Route 172 at 7:48 a.m. June 25 in West Township and struck a mailbox, guardrail, building and embankment. No injuries were reported.

— Danny L. Henderson, 56, Kenmar Drive, East Palestine, was cited for assured clear distance after his westbound vehicle on state Route 14 in Unity Township struck the rear of a westbound vehicle driven by Lori A. Wittebort, 61, Monaca, Pa., causing her vehicle to strike the rear of a westbound vehicle driven by Tyler S. Hurd, 26, Poland, at 4:57 p.m. June 24. No injuries were reported.

— A 16-year-old Hanoverton girl was cited for reasonable control after her eastbound vehicle traveled off of Speidel Road and struck an embankment at 10:46 a.m. June 24. No injuries were reported.

Leetonia

– Officers responded to the 200 block of Elm Street at 12:06 p.m. Thursday in reference to an open 911 call and spoke with the resident, who was fine and did not call 911 but was combative with officers. Officers reassured the resident before clearing.

– A Columbia Street resident reported on station at 1 p.m. July 1 a woman is accusing her of threatening her. The complainant was advised to block the other woman on social media and not respond to any postings.

Perry Township

— Officers assisted the Salem Police Department with a fight in the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 12:49 a.m. Sunday. Officers were able to separate all parties for the night.

— Officers assisted the Salem Police Department with a speeding complaint at 12:23 a.m. Sunday. Officers stood by while the person in question was taken into custody.

— A dog at large was reported in the 300 block of Benton Road at 5:36 p.m. Saturday that had bitten a man. The man advised the dog had gotten scared and was hiding under the porch. He declined medical treatment and advised they would contact officers if the dog came out, or they were able to get a leash on it.

— A juvenile complaint was reported in the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:13 p.m. Friday. Officers spoke with the juvenile’s parents about the situation and confirmed the juvenile to be physically okay. The juvenile’s mother advised that she would address the issue.

— A suspicious person was reporting running around a building and looking in windows in the 100 block of Blossom Lane at 4:02 a.m. Friday. It was found to be a worker playing a prank.

— A reckless operator was reported by multiple people in the area of state Route 45 and U.S. Route 62 at 8:22 p.m. July 1. Officers spoke with the person in question, Bradley McCoy, Minerva, who denied the allegations and was cited for driving under suspension.

— Criminal damage was reported in the 1100 block of East Pidgeon Road at 3:14 p.m. June 30. The caller advised that the rope blocking off a parking lot had been cut and requested a report on file.

Salem

— Christopher Michael Hostetter, 51, Lavalette, W.Va., was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash on East State Street at Continental Drive at 1:26 p.m. Monday in which he was southbound and pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Sheren Elsayed Farag, 40, Alliance. No injuries were reported.

— Zachary W. Carr, 26, Aetna Street, Salem, was charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing after officers responded to the the 500 block of Aetna Street at 9:35 p.m. Sunday in reference to fight and found Carr had allegedly struck his mother and his mother’s boyfriend regarding the discipline of a dog. Carr also allegedly made threats of committing serious physical harm to the victims and officers.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West State Street at 8:27 p.m. Sunday in reference to people throwing rocks at passing vehicles. Officers learned the people had left the area on foot and were unable to find them. No damage to vehicles was reported.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:42 p.m. Sunday in reference to a child bit by a dog in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street. The juvenile was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital and the matter was forwarded to the city health department.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 12:55 a.m. Sunday in reference to a fight and found two brothers had been in an altercation. The brother who owned the home requested officers remove the other brother from the property.

— Christopher M. Brink Jr., 20, Franklin Avenue, Salem, was cited for OVI, underage consumption, no driver’s license and reckless operation following after officers responded to the 200 block of East Ninth Street at 12:20 a.m. Sunday in reference to a 911 hang-up call with yelling in the background. Officers en route observed Brink turn off East Ninth Street onto North Ellsworth Avenue and accelerate at a high rate of speed before stopping in the 1300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:25 p.m. Saturday in reference to a man and two juveniles outside the caller’s door talking. Officers did not find anyone in the area. Salem fire department first responders and EMT responded to check the well-being of the caller, who refused treatment.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue at 6:45 p.m. Saturday where a caller reported seeing a woman wandering into the Grandview Cemetery then two and half hours later wandering aimlessly near the Damascus Friends Church branch. Officers made contact with the woman who was crying hysterically and making incoherent statements. Salem fire department first responders and EMT responded and found the woman highly impaired on a narcotic, and transported her to the Salem hospital for treatment.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 5:42 p.m. Saturday in reference to someone outside the home threatening to break in if not granted access. Officers found the person had already left, but he returned moments later. The person denied the allegations, but claimed his cell phone was left inside the home with an ex-girlfriend. He was trespassed from the property.

— A caller reported at 3:20 p.m. Saturday an unknown woman sending her brother harassing text messages about him shutting off his ex-girlfriend’s phone which is in his name and for which he pays. The caller wanted the incident documented.

— A complainant reported on station at 3:12 p.m. Saturday a road rage incident on East State Street and Hawley Avenue in which she said she changed lanes from a left turn to continue straight and the following vehicle apparently thought she cut them off. The complainant said the driver of the other vehicle purposely struck the rear of her vehicle before improperly passing her, then continuously brake checking her until he drove off. Minor damages were observed to the complainant’s vehicle and she wanted to pursue charges. An investigation is pending.

— Jessica Lynn Beule, Youngstown, was charged with theft after officers responded to the 29000 block of U.S. Route 30 at 7:47 a.m. Saturday to meet with the Carroll County sheriff as a result of criminal charges through the Salem Police Department.

— Officers responded to the area of Penn Avenue and East Pershing Street at 11:59 p.m. Friday in reference to two people sitting on the ground outside their vehicle. Officers found the people had been drinking and needed a ride home. The people signed medical refusals and were given a ride home by officers.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 11:02 p.m. Friday in reference to a domestic in progress and found a juvenile had been fighting with people in the home. No physical violence had occurred and the juvenile was taken back to the police station to wait for his mother to pick him up.

— William M. Blakovich II, East Seventh Street, Salem, was cited for open container of alcohol in public after an officer working the fireworks event at Waterworth Memorial Park on Superior Avenue at 9:41 p.m. Friday observed him stumbling in the street.

— A complainant reported on station at 9:07 p.m. Friday someone urinated in public near the duck pond at Waterworth Memorial Park outside his vehicle while his 1-year-old daughter was able to watch. Officers gathered the necessary information and will attempt to contact the person in question.

— Michael Baxter, 44, West Fifth Street, Salem, was charged with assault after officers responded to his home at 7:30 p.m. Friday in reference to a fight.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Pershing Street at 5:55 p.m. Friday where a caller reported entering an establishment for five minutes and exiting to find their vehicle missing. Officers watched video of a female driving a black Honda park next to the complainant’s truck, exit her vehicle and enter the truck and leave westbound on East Pershing Street. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office later advised they found the vehicle and woman involved. She was taken into custody and additional charges are pending.

— An officer spoke with a complainant on station at 3:43 p.m. Friday in which she claimed the father of her children was refusing to return the children to her. After speaking with everyone involved, the officer referred the case to the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 11:34 a.m. Friday in reference to a resident claiming he was being held against his will at the facility. Officers determined the resident to be having a possible mental health emergency and the resident was transported by ambulance to an appropriate medical facility for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Woodland Avenue at 10:13 a.m. Friday in reference to a dispute. One of the people involved had already left, but the other person reported the person who left had struck her mirror in the hallway, breaking the glass out of the frame, and that she was fed up with him breaking her items.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Fifth Street at 10:12 a.m. Friday in reference to a domestic dispute. They found no physical violence or threats made and one of the people involved had already left the residence for the time being.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 8:20 a.m. Friday in reference to an unruly juvenile. Officers learned the juvenile had been reported as a runaway the night prior and had returned home. Since then the juvenile had been unruly. Officers advised the juvenile and guardians to remain separated and to call the police department if anything else was needed.
