Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:06 p.m. Thursday to Ag-Pro, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township, for a video alarm of a semi truck backing up to the building. The deputy spoke with the driver, who had paperwork for a delivery in the morning.

— The Counseling Center called at 7:28 p.m. Thursday to request a welfare check on a person on Spillway Road, Hanover Township, who was having suicidal thoughts. A deputy spoke with the person, who said they were fine.

— Suspicious activity was reported at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 40000 block of Morris Road, Elkrun Township, where deputies responded and learned from the caller that he saw someone walking his property with a flashlight. Deputies checked the immediate and surrounding areas and didn’t find anyone.

— A man on Brown Street, Center Township, reported at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday that his ex-girlfriend from East Liverpool won’t stop contacting him by phone. A deputy spoke with her by phone and she was advised to have no contact with the man.

— A woman on state Route 518, Franklin Township, reported at 7:29 p.m. Wednesday that her ex-boyfriend from Austintown keeps driving by her residence very slowly.

— Kacandra Seddon, 45, Lisa Lane, Lisbon, was arrested again for criminal trespass after a deputy was called at 12:14 a.m. Wednesday to a Depot Road, Center Township residence for a trespass incident. The deputy observed Seddon walking down the driveway of the property she had previously been warned not to trespass on. She just had a case in Columbiana County Municipal Court last week that remains pending for criminal trespass at the same property and now she was taken into custody again and taken to jail for the same charge.

— A man on Walnut Grove Lane, Unity Township reported at 7:38 p.m. Tuesday that his neighbor keeps mowing on his property and the water from her above ground swimming pool is running onto his property.

–A deputy was dispatched at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday to Breezeway Mobile Manor, state Route 558, Salem Township, for an assault report. Warrants for assault and aggravated menacing were issued out of Columbiana County Municipal Court on a 39-year-old Columbiana man.

— A woman on U.S. Route 30, West Township reported at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday that she had a package stolen from her front porch on May 14 totaling $28.94 and two packages stolen on June 1 totaling $26.20 for a total of $55.14. The packages were delivered by UPS.

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:35 p.m. Monday to Clarks Mill Road, Washington Township for a reported assault. The deputy spoke to both parties involved and found everything was verbal. A refusal form was signed by the complainant and the other person was told to leave the property.

— A menacing complaint was reported at 8:49 p.m. Monday by a Stephen Drive, West Township resident.

— Deputies were dispatched at 12:18 a.m. Saturday to Hartley Road, Knox Township for a domestic violence report. Refusals were signed by all parties involved.

Highway Patrol

— Jacob D. Jones, 30, Hubbard, was cited for reasonable control after his westbound vehicle on state Route 172 in Center Township traveled off of the right side of the road and struck a guardrail at 5:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 10. No injury was reported.

— Charles E. Beverly, 45, Canton, was cited for traffic control devices after his eastbound truck on Georgetown Road, Knox Township, just past Homeworth Road, struck an overhead bridge at 12:54 p.m. Monday, June 8. No injury was reported.

— No citation was listed on the report for a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of state Route 45 and Teegarden Road in Salem Township at 12:50 a.m. June 3. An eastbound pickup on Teegarden Road driven by Gabriel T. Hafner, 22, Minerva, failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a southbound car on state Route 45 driven by Donna A. Shiderly, 39, Elkton Road, Lisbon, in the intersection. The Shiderly vehicle continued south and struck the guardrail three times then came to final rest while the Hafner pickup continued east and struck a guardrail. Hafner and his passenger, Melina Shanahan, 19, Minerva, both suffered suspected serious injuries and were each flown by Stat MedEvac to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Shiderly suffered suspected serious injuries and her passenger, Mayson Cassell, 32, West Drury Lane, East Liverpool suffered suspected minor injuries, with both transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown by Leetonia EMS.

— Dawn Gotschall, 38, Lewis Road, Salineville, was cited for reasonable control after her southbound vehicle traveled off of the right side of state Route 644 and struck a guardrail, then continued south and traveled off the left side of the road at 10:42 p.m. June 2 in Summitville. No injuries were reported.

— Johnathan M. Simpson, 21, Lisbon Street, Leetonia, suffered a suspected serious injury and was transported by Leetonia Fire/EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown after his westbound vehicle on Butcher Road ran a stop sign at Lisbon Road, traveled off of the road and struck a traffic sign at 8:36 p.m. June 2 in Salem Township. Simpson was cited for reasonable control and operating a vehicle impaired.
