Sheriff’s Office

— A man on Waterford Road, East Palestine reported at 10:36 a.m. Monday that his son was charged and chest bumped by a coach from Cleveland the night before.

— A man on Schneider Road, Hanover Township came to the station at 9:59 a.m. Monday to report contracting with a contractor to put in some new windows. He ordered the windows on Sept. 30, 2025 and as of Monday, no work has been done or windows received.

— A medical facility in North Lima requested a welfare check at 8:24 a.m. Monday for a patient who missed an appointment and couldn’t be reached. A deputy made contact with him and he was fine and will make the next appointment the next day.

— A man on Hazel Run Road, Salineville reported at 9:51 a..m. Monday that 1,200 feet of cable was stolen.

— A deputy advised of a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) for a black BMW spotted the vehicle at 7:15 a.m. Monday in a parking lot on state Route 518 in West Point and followed the vehicle, with the patrol requesting the vehicle be stopped. The post arrived and took over the traffic stop.

— A white pony was reported loose in the parking lot of the Columbiana County jail on County Home Road, Lisbon, Center Township at 7:57 p.m. Saturday. The owner arrived and got the pony.

— A deputy was dispatched to Shady Lane Road, Center Township, for a structure fire at an abandoned residence with arson suspected at 7:17 p.m. Saturday. Lisbon, Hanover Township an Winona fire departments were on scene. A man from Lisa Lane, Center Township was advised by the deputy to stop causing a disturbance and to go back to his residence. He said he just wanted to know if he had to evacuate his residence and leave his property. He was advised no.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6:42 p.m. Saturday to Lakeview Road, Hanover Township for a person having mental health issues. The person was with family and friends. Hanover Township EMS and EMT EMS were on scene. The deputy pink-slipped the person, meaning the person was ordered taken to a hospital, with EMT EMS transporting the person to East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool.

— A man reported at 5:41 p.m. Saturday that the door inside his mother’s residence on East Liverpool Road, Madison Township going to the upstairs had damage to the door handle and deadbolt. He believed another family member caused the damage.

— A deputy was dispatched at 3:45 p.m. Saturday to Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township, for a person injured while working on a vehicle when the bar on the jack struck him in the face and head area. The Lisbon Fire Department and West Point EMS were on the scene. West Point EMS transported the person to Dickey Drive, Lisbon where Stat MedEvac was waiting to transport him to a hospital.

— A deputy was dispatched at 5:29 p.m. May 8 to Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, South 12th Street, Knox Township, for a person who had a medical issue and died. North Georgetown Fire Department and Sebring EMS were on scene, with the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office advised. The person was taken to a funeral home.

Leetonia

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 12:10 p.m. May 6 for a report of social media harassment. They advised that a person is making TikTok videos about her, her family, and neighbors and was continuing to do so despite being issued a cease-and-desist order.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Park Street at 4:05 p.m. May 5 for a report of domestic violence. The caller advised that three people were fighting on the porch of a residence. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that she and her two granddaughters had been teasing each other over the phone and attempting to gain possession of it. There were no injuries and all parties advised of the same.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Columbia Street at 4:45 p.m. May 3 for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the male half who advised that he and the female half had gotten into an argument about her potentially returning to her boyfriend’s house after they allegedly assaulted her the night prior. The female half was extremely intoxicated and advised that her boyfriend had assaulted her by striking her and dragging her down a flight of steps. Officers contacted a sergeant from the Columbiana Police Department as the alleged assault occurred in their jurisdiction.

— Stephanie Geary was cited for driving under suspension after a registration check showed her license to be suspended at 4:26 p.m. May 2.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Main Street at 2:57 a.m. May 2 for a report of two people arguing. Officers located four people inside a vehicle who advised that they were not arguing and had just been enjoying each other’s company. Officers found they were slightly under the influence of alcohol, and they contacted a ride to pick them up.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Main Street at 9:24 p.m. May 1 for a reported suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Main Street at 8:54 p.m. May 1 for a reported dispute. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate involved parties.

East Liverpool

— Following a May 1 traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue William Oiler, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for failure to signal when making a turn. Oiler gave the officers verbal consent to search his vehicle. The rear seat passenger in the vehicle, identified as Richard Hutton, age and address not provided, is known to officers to be involved in drug activity. Hutton was asked by officers to step out of the vehicle. After refusing several times, Hutton exited the vehicle and was patted down for weapons. After feeling a metal object in the front of his shorts, officers detained Hutton and placed him cuffs. While detaining him, a burnt glass crack pipe with Chore Boy fell from inside his shorts and he was placed in custody for drug paraphernalia. While searching Hutton, officers found a small container on him containing suspected crack cocaine. Another officer asked the front seat passenger identified as Randy Oiler to step out of the vehicle and patted him down for weapons. In Randy Oiler’s front pocket was a cigarette pack in which officers found a clear bag with suspected crack cocaine. When searching the vehicle officers found a backpack on the rear seat where Hutton was sitting which contained a pill bottle with several different pills packaged for sale and a loaded Glock model 21 Gen4 .45 caliber handgun. The officer ran the serial number of the gun which came back, listing the gun as a stolen firearm. Also in the backpack was a wallet and other items belonging to Hutton. William Oiler was released to go after the traffic stop. The bag of suspected crack cocaine found on Randy Oiler was bagged as evidence and sent to BCI for testing, and Hutton was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia and a stolen firearm. Back at the police department, Hutton was searched again, and officers found a small amount of crack cocaine in his sock.

— A female officer requested to assist Hancock County for a body search of a female on May 1, arrived at the scene on West Carolina Avenue and asked her if he was going to find anything on her during a search and she told him no. The officer had negative findings during the search and cleared the scene.

— A male came to the station on May 1 to report that he wants the harassing from a female over property she does not own to stop. He said the female has called the police and dog warden on him several times and then filed a restraining order saying that he is bothering her, and he just wants it all to stop.

— Officers spoke with a female at her Ohio Avenue residence who told them on May 1 that a strange white male with a dark coat, blue jeans, a bandana on his face and two backpacks on him walked behind her neighbor’s house and then got into a dark colored pickup truck and left the area before the officers arrived.

— An officer responding to an open 911 call on May 1 at a Shady Lane apartment, spoke to the residents who said everything was okay and they did not call 911.

— Officers took a report over the phone on May 1 from a male saying that another male is making fake accounts and numbers to attempt to contact him and his girlfriend. The male was to come to the police department to fill out a statement on May 2 but did not show.

— Treyvon Wise was issued citations during a May 1 traffic stop on Dresden Avenue for no license plate light and no driver’s license.

— Officers spoke with a male at an Erie Street residence regarding his ex-girlfriend refusing to leave his residence after dropping their children off. He told officers that she showed up causing problems, but she left before they got there. An officer told him if she shows back up or causes more problems to call them back.

— A male was verbally trespassed from the Dollar General store, West 7th Street location, on May 1 by an employee and an officer for causing a scene and making threats. An employee told officers she had observed him hiding an item in his hoodie pocket in April and told him then he was not allowed back in the store due to suspicion of theft. When the employee told the male on May 1 that he was not allowed in the store the male threatened the employee. The officer told the male that he will be charged if he returns.

— Officers assisted a St. Clair Township police officer at Tri-State Ford with an investigation he was currently working on regarding a stolen phone from Walmart. The St. Clair Township officer interviewed the male who admitted to taking the phone.

— Officers took a report for property damage on May 1 for a resident who said the bricks on the top of her Jackman Street property retaining wall were broken off.

— Officers investigating a possible assault on East 5th Street on May 1 viewed video footage and determined no assault took place. It was people trying to separate family members before a verbal argument escalated. The incident is being sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

— Victoria Redman, 20, address not provided, was arrested for theft after on May 3 after admitting to stealing items from a West 6th street apartment.

— While checking an area of Green Lane for a people reported to be drinking in public on May 2 an officer observed Donald Nesselrode, 59, address not provided, who is known to the officer to have an active warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Officer at the Dollar General Store. After confirming the warrant, the officer arrested Nesselrode and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers filed a report for a female who reported on May 2 that someone drove by her Maine Boulevard residence and her knocked her mailbox over.

— After responding to a juvenile complaint on May 2 on Holliday Street, officers located the 11-year-old male juvenile who left his residence without permission after an altercation with his brother and mother. The juvenile attempted to run from officers, but was detained and placed without cuffs in the back of a police car. The juvenile was verbally combative with the officers, and the mother said this was no unusual behavior. Due to the violent behavior exhibiting by the juvenile, officers contacted the prosecutor to see if he could be transported to Tobin Center and charged with domestic violence. The prosecutor said no due to the juvenile’s age. The juvenile was allowed to go stay with other family members for the weekend. The mother was advised to seek help from juvenile probation.

— Malcolm Wade, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for failure to control after officers investigated a vehicle missing a wheel and observing tire marks in the grass and damage to a telephone pole from being struck by the vehicle on May 2 on state Route 39.

— Officers forwarded a report to the juvenile prosecutor’s office for a female who would not be accepted by Tobin Center for being under the required age, after the juvenile’s mothers reported a domestic violence issue involving the juvenile who then left the home without permission on May 2. Officers located the juvenile and brought her back to the residence. Officers observed a mark on the mother’s neck which the mother said was from the juvenile swinging at her and hitting her face and scratching her neck.

— Officers located a juvenile who was reported as running away from her residence on May 2 and transported the juvenile back to the residence.

— A male came to the police station on May 2 and showed officers a text he received on his phone that supposedly came from the BMV telling him he had unpaid fees. The officer looked at the text and told him it was a scam. The officer had dispatch run his license and show him there were no issues with it.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 11:39 p.m. Wednesday for a report of someone looking in a vehicle. The caller advised that their ex-girlfriend was looking in their truck. Nothing was reported missing or damaged at that time.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 10:01 p.m. Wednesday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question, who advised they were done making noise for the evening.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers found that a juvenile and their parent had gotten into a verbal altercation which had turned physical. The juvenile, whose name was not listed, was placed into custody and due to the circumstances, was transported to a medical facility for evaluation.

— Officers spoke with a man at the police department for a report of fraud at 12:39 Wednesday. It was discovered the man resides outside the city limits and was advised of the proper law enforcement agency to contact.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 11:24 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The person in question advised that they were okay and did not need any assistance.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 10:53 a.m. Wednesday for a report of possible fraud. After investigating the incident further, officers discovered they would need to file to report with their local police department.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 12:24 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious noise heard in a residence. Officers checked the residence with the owner and found that a cat had knocked a fan over.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday for a reported unruly patient. The caller advised that their patient was using their wheelchair to keep other people from getting through the back door. The issue was resolved prior to officers’ arrival, and officers advised the patient not to block the door anymore.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Woodland Avenue at 11:13 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person knocking on their front door and bedroom window. Officers checked the area but did not observe anything suspicious. Officers also spoke with a witness in the area who advised they hadn’t observed anything unusual.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 10:58 p.m. Tuesday for a residence check. Officers checked the upstairs of the home and ensured that nothing abnormal was present.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Seventh Street at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday for a reported noise complaint. Officers searched the area, with nothing unusual located.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 9:09 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Perry Township Police Department. Officers assisted until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday for a report of property being taken. It was found that the matter was a misunderstanding and that the items had been taken for safekeeping and not stolen. The person in question advised that they would return the items the next day.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday for a reported wellness check. The homeowner advised that they were fine and having dinner with a friend.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fifth Street at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke to all parties involved and found that one of the parties had kicked open the bedroom door, and the other had pushed them to keep them out. One of the parties was transported to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East Pershing Street at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute. The caller advised that she was at the location working as a traveling nurse, and the aide on her floor was being verbally abusive. The caller was advised to speak with her managers or human resources about the matter. She requested the matter to be documented.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 6:16 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a theft that occurred on May 9. Asset Protection observed an unknown woman failing to scan several items totaling more than $100 in value on security footage. All information was collected, and the investigation remains ongoing.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 4:52 p.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. When officers arrived, the person in question was being treated by medical personnel, and they were ultimately transported to the Salem Emergency Room.

— Jayme Crowell, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after their vehicle struck the side of a vehicle driven by Anna Kuzma, Canfield in the 700 block of South Lincoln Avenue while backing out of a private drive at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Sixth Street at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday for a reported motor vehicle lockout. A verbal waiver of damages was completed, and entry was gained without incident.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Washington Avenue at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible protection order violation. The caller advised that the person she has an order against walked past her house. Officers spoke with the man who advised to walking past the house but ultimately determined that they had not violated the protection order. Officers spoke with the caller and advised them that they would need to update the order.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 1:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of telephone harassment. The caller advised someone unknown to them had sent them text messages that were offensive.
