Sheriff’s Office

— A woman on Salem Alliance Road, Butler Township, at Deer Run Mobile Home Park reported at 6:32 p.m. Thursday that her 13-year-old daughter left her bookbag outside the residence and now it’s missing. She said there was a note left that stated “sorry about your stuff.”

— An alarm was reported at Farmers National Bank, U.S. Route 62, Butler Township at 5:55 p.m. Thursday. All doors and windows were secure at ground level.

— A deputy was dispatched at 4:41 p.m. Thursday to a property on state Route 14, Unity Township for a theft report.

— Deputies responded at 4:09 a.m. Thursday to Mick Road, Yellow Creek Township, for a man to be removed, with the caller reporting there was a post conviction, no contact order per Columbiana County Municipal Court protecting her from the man. He was detained and confirmation was made with dispatch and the law enforcement data base. Albert M. Fullerton, 63, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, was taken into custody and taken to the county jail. He’s scheduled to face a probable cause hearing for a probation violation on a protection order case on March 25 in county Municipal Court.

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday to Main Street, Knox Township for an assault report. A refusal was signed.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6:28 p.m. Monday to Lower Elkton Road, Fairfield Township for a civil matter, telling the person how to proceed.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East State Street at 2:26 a.m. Saturday to assist the Ohio State Highway State Patrol with a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle, whose name was not listed, was arrested for OVI and brought to the police department for further testing.

— Officers responded to the area of East State Street and Brooklyn Avenue at 11:37 p.m. Friday for a reported barking dog. Officers were unable to speak with anyone at the residence in question.

— Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 6:57 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. Officers spoke with the person in question, who was a resident there and was not doing anything wrong.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 1:51 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that while in the parking lot of a business, a verbal argument with an unknown man took place and he wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Oak Street at 12:26 p.m. Friday for a report of an illegally parked vehicle. Officers spoke with the owners, who advised they would move the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 6:46 a.m. Friday to assist the Columbiana County Sherriff’s Office. While enroute officers were advised that they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 12:20 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a person possibly experiencing an overdose and requested the fire department and EMT check them. EMT transported them to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 10:29 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised a man was looking between vehicles in the parking lot. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they were just shining a flashlight from the roadway at the vehicle. The man was trespassed from the property by the owner.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue at 10:05 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question. The fire department and EMT were requested to respond.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Short Avenue and Summit Street at 9:58 p.m. Thursday located a person with an active warrant out of Columbian County. Officers spoke with the wanted person, John McCallister, 45, Salem, taking him into custody and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Union Avenue at 8:32 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located a vehicle parked in a no parking zone, and after speaking with neighbors foundthe owner was not returning until the next day due to car issues. Sinsley’s Towing responded to the scene and removed the vehicle from the roadway,

— Officers responded to the first block of Elm Avenue at 8:22 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers located an unoccupied gray Chevrolet truck park with nobody around.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Pershing Street at 6:12 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised multiple juveniles were riding their bikes and scooters on the tracks. Officers spoke with the juveniles and advised them to keep off the tracks.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 5:18 p.m. Thursday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers spoke with both parties involved, and the matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Second Street at 4:03 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised a man on a bicycle was allegedly taking pictures of kids at the playground. The man in question left prior to the officers’ arrival, but they were directed to a residence on East Third that he had gone to. Officers spoke with the man who denied taking any pictures and advised he went there to see his kids when they got off the bus but had realized he was too late.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 3:55 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were fine.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 3:36 p.m. Thursday to check for a wanted person. Officers were advised the person in question was not present at the residence, and the owner allowed officers to check the residence. Everything checked OK and the person was not present.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 5:49 a.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. Officers found the woman in question had left prior to their arrival and had previously been trespassed from the property by law enforcement. The property owners wanted to pursue criminal charges and a warrant for criminal trespass will be issued for the woman in question.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East State Street at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised security lights on their building had an issue. Officers checked the building and everything was OK.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person with a warrant. Officers were advised the warrant was out of the pick-up radius.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties who denied any physical violence and advised them to try to remain separated for the evening.

St. Clair Township

– Officers investigated an area of Mort Drive on March 6 for a group of males walking along the roadway with flashlights.

– A driver was issued a verbal warning for no visible license plate during a March 6 traffic stop on state Route 170.

– Daniel Hissom was issued a citation during a March 6 traffic stop on state Route 170 for driving under suspension. The vehicle was towed by Calcutta Towing.

– A female came to the station on March 6 to file a report on a male who continues to text her through a blocked number after he was told by her on Feb. 28 that if he contacted her again charges may be filed. The officer said they would contact the number the female provided and speak with the male.

– An officer conducting random plate checks on state Route 170 on March 6 conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for which the plate showed the registered owner did not have a valid license. The driver of the vehicle was not the owner and had a valid license.

– Officers advised a female that as of March 10 she was trespassed from the Maw Maw Storage Units after responding to a call from her saying the manager was in her way while she was getting her things from the storage unit on March 7. The manager said she was given until March 10 to remove her items since they have been having problems with her.

– Officers responding on March 7 to a location on state Route 267 where a man had fallen from a tree found EMS had already arrived and began treating the male.

– Officers checked the area of Dresden Avenue on March 8 for a driver reported to be driving recklessly.

– An officer removed a dead tree from the roadway on Bell School Road on March 8.

– Amanda Newlun was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant out of Belmont County for criminal damaging after officers responded to an Artistic Drive residence where Newlum had backed a car into a ditch on March 8.

– After investigating a business on state Route 170 on March 8 for an alarm, officers found the building appeared to be secured.

– Officers searched for Patricia Fullerton, who had an outstanding warrant, after the residents of Annesley Road residence told officers they wanted her removed from the trailer she was currently in. The female making the request was advised on the eviction process.

– A female at a Meadowbrook residence requested officers file a report after a male showed up and asked to speak to his son which he had not seen in two years.

East Liverpool

– Officers were requested by EMS to a Wilbert Avenue residence on March 5 for a male acting crazy. When they arrived, EMS told them everything was fine.

– An officer fired one round to dispose of a deer that was still alive after being struck by a vehicle on St. Clair Avenue on March 5.

– Officers investigating a report of someone screaming on Blakley Street on March 5 found it was a group of juveniles outside yelling and playing around.

– Officers investigating a report of a baby that is always crying at a Shadylane residence on March 5 found the baby to be healthy with no signs of abuse. Officers noted the baby was not crying for the duration of the officers being there.

– A driver was issued a verbal warning for speed during a March 5 traffic stop on Harvey Aveue.

– Officers searched the area of Michigan Avenue on March 5 for juveniles reported to be riding dirtbikes on the street.

– An officer searched the area near the 400 block of East Fifth Street for a male reported to be taking his clothes of in the street.

– Officers investigating a noise complaint in the 300 block of East Eighth Street waited around for some time but did not hear anything.

– Tina Piatt, 54, address not provided, was issued a citation for failure to signal during a March 5 traffic stop on St. Clair Avenue. Additional officers stopped and were given consent to search the vehicle during the stop. During the search they located a burnt pipe used to smoke crack which Piatt told the officers was hers and a small bag with unknown residue in it. The bag was sent to BCI for testing and further charges are pending.

– A female and her boyfriend refused to speak to officers after her son called and reported he could hear them arguing at their St. Clair Avenue residence on March 5.

– Officers arrived at a Green Lane residence on March 5 after a male called and said his girlfriend was refusing to let him leave. The male left the residence when officers arrived, and the female was told she is not allowed to park in the middle of the road and to move the vehicle before it gets towed. The female moved the vehicle and the male left.

– An officer was requested to do a warrant check with a Columbiana County Sheriff deputy at a Center Street residence on March 5. They located Amanda Kiger, no age or address listed, in the back bedroom, and the deputy placed her in custody.

– Officers investigated an open 911 line at Jefferson Street residence on March 5. Officers spoke to a female who told them she and her boyfriend were fighting and that she didn’t want him there anymore. The officers advised her of the eviction process.

– A female told an officer on March 5 that she believes her ex-boyfriend was stealing money from her Chime Bank account after giving him back the phone he purchased after forgetting to factory reset it. She was advised to speak to her job to change her deposits for and when she can gain access to the account to provide the bank statements they need for an investigation.

– A female called the department on March 6 to report a male had purchased a vehicle from her and had not transferred it into his name and was driving the vehicle with no license. An officer went to the Erie Street address the female provided but the car was not there.

– Officers assisted housing officers with serving a notification to an Ogden Avenue residence on March 6. The warning was for the resident to not be living in the shed any longer.

– A female called the department to say that her children’s father had them at a drug house and would not give her the children as they have a custody agreement through Mahoning County and she wants a CPS case open to get her children. The officer said he would go to the address she provided and check on the children. The female later called back. The officer contacted Columbiana CPS and was advised the female had lost all custody of the children and only has visitation rights.

– An officer who observed three vehicles parked on Jefferson Street on March 6 with expired plates from 2022 and 2025 issued a citation for all three vehicles which were towed and impounded by First Class Towing. The officer notified the owners at the scene.

– Officers assisted the Columbiana County Drug Task Force with a warrant execution on March 6 at a St. George Street residence.

– Officers searched for a male who was reported to have taken a bunch of pills and be suicidal on March 6. They spoke with the male’s brother who told them he was OK and not suicidal.

– Officers spoke with a female on March 6 at a Wilbert Avenue residence who said a male was taking pictures of her and asking people to watch who is going in and out of her apartment. The male said he was not taking photos and would show anyone his phone. The female was told that the photos were taken in public place where there is no expectation of privacy. The male said that he sits in his room and looks out his window and everyone flips him off and appears to take photos of him while he eats. The officers told the male if he doing what the female says he is doing he should stop.

– An officer stood by at a Burford Street residence on March 6 while the parents of a male gathered his belongings from the residence due to a domestic dispute that morning.

– Officers forwarded a case to detective bureau for investigation after a female called the station on March 6 to report nudity of a child on Facebook.

– An officer checked a car in the 400 block of Blakley Street on March 6 for a dog that was reported to be in the car for five hours but did not find a vehicle or dog matching the description provided.

– Terry Adkins, 39, was taken into custody on March 6 for domestic violence and strangulation following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend at their Burford Street residence.

– A warrant was filed for Chelsea Baker on March 6 for making false alarms after she called police to report her Laura Avenue home was being watched. Due to multiple calls for robbery at her residence, officers went next door and asked to view their security footage and viewed on the footage Baker leaving her residence at 3:42 p.m. with a male and watched until 6:14 p.m. when she returned and called in a robbery in progress. During that time no one entered the residence. She then called the station and reported items missing. The charges were filed due to the current complaint and multiple other calls of the same nature where no evidence of a break in or missing items occurred and no crime actually happening at the residence.

– Officers responding to a report of a fight at Bernadine’s Bar on March 6 arrived were told by the owner there was no physical altercation, but he had three patrons that were being loud and told to leave. They complied with the owner’s request.

– Officers at the city housing department’s request responded on March 6 to an East Fourth Street residence to assist the housing department.

– Patricia McEldowney, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and court summons for driving under suspension during a March 6 traffic stop on Jennings Avenue.

– An officer issued a citation on a vehicle for being parked in front of city hall against the flow of traffic on March 6.
