Sheriff’s Office
— Deputies responded at 7:10 p.m. March 1 to Center Street, Lisbon regarding a civil matter. Deputies spoke to all parties involved and advised a report would be on file.
— A deputy checked the area of McIntosh Road, Madison Township regarding an animal-related call at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 27 for horses walking down the road. No horses were found after a check of the area.
— A hit-skip accident was reported at the Swift Mart, state Route 14, Unity Township at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26. A deputy collected photos of the vehicle damaged.
— A deputy at 11:01 a.m. Saturday investigated a complaint of criminal damaging to multiple vehicles on Buck Road in Knox Township. Evidence was collected at the scene, with an investigation opened. Criminal charges are pending.
— Deputies were dispatched at 6:39 p.m. Friday to Steubeville Pike Road, Center Township, for a medical call for a 50-year-old person having a heart attack. Dispatch advised there was a lot of yelling in the background and an ambulance was en route. Dispatch then said to disregard, the person was being transported by family.
— An alarm was reported at 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the area of West Main Street, Salineville. Deputies located the residence where the alarm was sounding and found a smoke detector on the porch beeping. Deputies eventually made contact with the owners and confirmed all was fine at the home. The detector had set off the night prior and they forgot to remove the battery. Deputies removed the battery and left the detector and battery on the grill where it was found.
— A woman at 8:37 p.m. March 4 reported having issues with a person on Dyke Road, Middleton Township and was advised how to obtain a protection order.
— Dispatchers were dispatched at 8:10 p.m. March 4 to Metz Road, Fairfield Township for a welfare check on a person who contacted the 988 suicide prevention lifeline. The person was transported to a hospital in Mahoning County by family members.
— Menacing was reported at 6:27 p.m. Feb. 27 at a Chamberlain Street, Middleton Township property. Deputies spoke to all parties who were advised to separate. The parties agreed and deputies advised for them to call back if other issues arise.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to the 2100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:58 p.m. Monday Sunday to speak with the victim of an assault that occurred earlier in the morning. The incident remains under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:35 a.m. Sunday for a reported fight. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers on patrol in the 1000 block of West State Street at 11:06 p.m. Saturday located two suspicious vehicles parked at a closed business. Officers found the vehicles to be unoccupied, and that one still had the keys inside. Officers were able to contact the owner who retrieved the keys.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 5:25 p.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised their Walmart order was stolen and that it contained items totaling nearly $900 in value and that they needed a report on file for the business.
— Officers responded to the 2300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:01 p.m. Saturday for a report of cows in the roadway. When officers arrived, the cows were back inside the fence.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Union Avenue at 12:17 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers found that a man was experiencing a mental episode and had locked himself in the bathroom. EMT responded and transported the man for further medical attention.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Monroe Street at 8:46 p.m. Sunday for a report of internet harassment. The caller advised that a previous employer had been leaving comments on his Facebook posts. The comments were deleted before being shown to officers, and the caller was advised to block the person in question.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 7:40 p.m. Sunday for a reported theft of a catalytic converter. The caller advised he didn’t notice the part was missing until Wednesday and that the area the vehicle is parked in is near an alleyway and very dark. No surveillance cameras were present in the area.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Spring Avenue at 4:35 p.m. Sunday to assist the Alliance Police Department in locating a vehicle that was involved in a hit and skip. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the owner, who admitted to being involved in the incident and photographs of the damage were taken and sent to the Alliance department.
— Officers responded to the 2100 block of East State Street at 2:55 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The caller advised there was a man in the store acting strangely. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.
— Officers spoke to a person by phone at Newgarden Avenue at 1:10 p.m. Sunday about someone posting things about her. Officers advised her of her options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 11:22 a.m. Sunday for a noise complaint. Officers spoke with a resident who advised that they were installing a new speaker in their car and that they had the music turned up to test it out. Officers advised him of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:59 a.m. Sunday for a report of menacing. Officers advised all the parties involved to cease and desist.
— Officers responded to the area of East State Street at 10:45 p.m. Saturday for a reported of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a juvenile was riding a bike in the street. Officers located the juvenile riding with an adult, and both were sent on their way.
— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 4:18 p.m. Saturday for a report of possible theft. The caller advised that a person had taken a drink from the shelf and was drinking it throughout the store and had left without paying for it. Officers spoke with the man who advised he had set the drink down to put items in the cart and forgotten about it. Officers advised him that the store only wanted the incident documented at that time.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Shady Lane at 3:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a vehicle blocking the roadway. Officers located the vehicle in question, and it was removed from the roadway by Sinsley Towing.
— Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and Aetna Street at 9:53 a.m. Saturday for a reported assault. The victim advised he had gotten into a verbal argument with his girlfriend over relationship issues which had turned physical and that she had slapped him in the face. The girlfriend did admit to slapping the victim, but they did not want to pursue any charges and returned to their own residence.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 12:42 a.m. Saturday for a reported combative patient. Officers assisted the staff with securing the person in question to their bed.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Union Avenue at 12:21 a.m. Saturday for a report of a possible domestic that was found to be a medical issue. The person in question was transported to the hospital.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:52 p.m. Friday for a reported fight. Officers spoke with multiple people standing outside the bar and were advised that the argument had begun inside the bar and was brought outside. The altercation was verbal only, and several parties agreed to leave.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:25 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties and the female half, who was intoxicated advised that nothing was going on while crying and laughing, and the male half advised that she had a hold of his coat and would not let go and they began arguing. Neither advised that anything physical had occurred.
— Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 9:19 p.m. Friday for a report of vandalism. Officers collected information and advised the caller that the juvenile officer and school resource officer would attempt to identify who was responsible.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 8:10 p.m. Friday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers found that the resident was having issues with their phone and could not get it to operate properly. Officers spoke with all parties in the home, and everything appeared to be okay.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 7:16 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. Officers spoke with the nurse in charge and determined that police presence was not required. Officers advised the head nurse that the matters at hand were in house issues and to speak with their director.
— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 2:29 p.m. Friday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that she is getting unwanted text messages from her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend and that they wanted the incident documented. The caller was advised of the protection order process
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:18 p.m. Friday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The caller advised that he was getting unwanted texts from his ex and that he had filed a report earlier that year about the same issue. They advised that they did not want to file charges at that time but did want the incident documented again. The caller was also advised of the protection order process.
