East Palestine

— Police responded at 5:29 p.m. Feb. 27 to the 600 block of Jackson Street to investigate parking issues and noted the condition of a nearby vacant structure in violation of several zoning law. A complaint was forwarded to the city’s zoning officer for further investigation.

— A unsupervised child was noted inside a vehicle parked in the front of Dollar General at 9:12 p.m. Feb. 27. The child’s guardian exited the business and was informed of the dangers associated with leaving the child alone event for a short amount of time.

— A female complainant reported at 10:05 a.m. Feb. 28 that an unknown subject came to her South Washington Street resident and had been banging on her door and windows between 3 and 5 a.m for the last three days.

— Police arrived at 6:50 p.m. Feb. 28 to a residence in the 400 block of West Main Street and removed an unwanted male subject and provided him with a courtesy transport to a friend’s place across town.

— An officer investigated a private property crash at 11:27 a.m. March 1 at the West Taggart Street laundromat.

— George Faulkner Jr., was served at 6:40 pm. March 2 with an active warrant for telecommunications harassment while reporting harassment by another subject.

— James C. Bollinger and Shawna Lewis, no addresses provided, were arrested at 10:24 p.m. March 2 on charges of domestic violence for a dispute that had began in the 3800 block of West Main Street and concluded in New Waterford.

Salem

— Officers observed a single-vehicle crash without injuries on Sunset Boulevard at 8:31 p.m. Monday. The vehicle went off the roadway, striking a sign. The driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation to verify they weren’t experiencing a medical issue.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Westview Avenue at 8:09 p.m. Monday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that their ex had barged their way into their home and that while they did not want to pursue charges, they wanted them gone. A criminal trespass form was completed and explained to both parties.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 7:14 p.m. Monday for a report of a possible breaking and entering. When officers arrived and spoke with the caller, they were given several different answers for what took place. Officers advised the caller to keep their doors locked and contact officers immediately if they needed assistance.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Monday for a reported animal at large. The area was checked but no animals were located and nor was there any answer at the given address.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Highland Avenue at 5:16 p.m. Monday for a reported distraught person. Officers were advised that the person appeared to be upset and was at a vacant house. Officers spoke with the person in question, who advised that they were okay and were at the residence helping to clean it up. Officers spoke with the property owner who confirmed the same.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 3:37 p.m. Monday for a reported medical complaint. Officers found that both parties had protection orders against each other and the male half was transported to the hospital for evaluation and the female half, Amy Coyle, 47, East Liverpool was taken into custody charged with violating a protection order.

Columbiana

— The Department of Homeland Security was notified following a traffic stop Feb. 19 in the area of Park Avenue and Vine Street. Upon further investigation, Mauricio Rivas, no address listed, is believed to be in the United States illegally, after allegedly possessing numerous falsified documents and improper registration, so he is being held in Columbiana County Jail pending a possible deportation hearing.
