— A man on state Route 45, Center Township, reported at 8:09 p.m. Thursday that his neighbor from Black Road, Center Township, was in his vehicle in the roadway in front of the man’s house, revving the engine, waving his middle finger at the residence, yelling and causing a disturbance while the man was inside.
— A woman on Black Road, Center Township, reported at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday that she heard a loud explosion at the neighbor’s residence, saying she was scared for her life, her residence shook and she felt this was a way of harassment from the neighbor. A deputy spoke with the neighbor, state Route 45, Center Township, who had a small brush pile burning on the property and said there was a little pop in the fire, but it wasn’t that loud or intentional. Both residents were told to have no contact with each other.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 3:59 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic in progress. The caller advised that their brother grabbed and twisted their arm, punched her in the face, and shoved her into the car. The caller had a swollen lip and the brother, James Sturgell, 20, Salem, had a cut on his knuckle which was bleeding. The caller wanted charges filed against their brother, and Sturgell was transported to the Columbiana County Jail Charged with Domestic Violence.
— The school resource officer was advised of issues with students jumping in front of vehicles at 2:46 p.m. Thursday. Officers monitored the area for several minutes and did not observe the reported behavior.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of East State Street at 9:11 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that both the front and rear tires were flat, and a passenger window had been busted out. Officers located the vehicle, and the matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East State Street at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an abandoned vehicle. The owner of the property advised that a vehicle had been parked in the back parking lot for a week and that they did not know who owned it. Officers checked the registration and attempted to contact the owner, but nobody answered the phone. Officers advised the caller that they could have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Benton Road at 11:57 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a possible stolen vehicle. The caller advised that their vehicle was missing from their place of employment. After a brief investigation it was determined that the vehicle had been repossessed and the police department had not been notified as the repo company called the Perry Township Police Department. The caller was advised of the same.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Rose Avenue at 10:38 p.m. Wednesday for a report of yelling from a vehicle. Officers spoke with the occupants and found everything to be okay.
— Officers responded to a business in the 700 block of West State Street at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man asking customers for money. Employees advised they wanted the man trespassed from the property, and officers explained that consequences if they returned to the property to the man. The man left the area.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Third Street at 5:03 p.m. Wednesday for a medical call. The caller advised that their sister, whom they are the guardian of, was off their medication and refusing to take them and that they wanted her to go to the hospital. The sister was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Boardman by EMT.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday a report of an alleged sex offense within city limits. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Seventh Street at 10:52 a.m. Wednesday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised that the neighbor does not pick up after his dog when taking it on walks, and that they had placed a copy of the city ordinances regarding animal waste in the neighbor’s mailbox. The neighbor then approached and engaged in a verbal altercation with the caller. Officers spoke with the neighbor and advised them to pick up after their dog, and both parties were advised not to speak with each other any further.
— Officers responded to the area of East State Street at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised an unknown person had been driving in circles in the area for more than two hours while honking. Officers checked the area and several surrounding streets but did not locate the vehicle.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 10:27 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties and were advised that there had been an argument after which one party began striking themselves while the other attempted to restrain them from doing so. Both parties agreed to remain separated for the night and were advised to contact officers if anything else was needed.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 8 p.m. Tuesday for a reported breaking and entering of a vacant residence. The person in question, Daniel Dochterman, 58, Salem, was ordered to exit the residence, or K-9 Chaz would be deployed, and Dochterman willingly surrendered. The property owner advised that they wanted to press charges, and Dochterman was arrested and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised their son was being disrespectful and acting out. Both parties were having minor issues with one another and were given options on how to work it out. They were advised to call back if necessary.
— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday for a report of theft. Officers issued Alyssa Evans, East Liverpool, with a trespass notice and advised them that they would be issued a court summons for theft.
— Officers spoke with a person by phone at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised that an unknown woman had called her and began flirting with her and told her to press one to continue. The caller was advised to block the number and not give any personal information.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 5:51 p.m. Tuesday for a reported hit and skip. The caller advised that a vehicle had driven them off the road while driving southbound on North Lincoln Avenue and had also struck two mailboxes. Photos of the property damage were taken and logged into the report, and flock cameras in the area are being reviewed for possible suspects.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday for a reported missing juvenile. The juvenile was located inside the building.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eighth Street at 4:37 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possibly intoxicated person. Officers were advised that the person in question had gotten into a vehicle and was traveling southbound on North Ellsworth Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop finding that the driver was not intoxicated.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:41 p.m. regarding possible fraud. The caller advised that they had received a bill in the mail from a local store that was in someone else’s name. Officers advised them of the options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West 10th Street at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unwanted person. The caller advised that a known person was at their door, and they did not want to speak to them. Officers spoke with the woman and requested them to leave. The woman left without issue.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday for a reported altercation between two residents at the facility. The caller advised that there were no injuries, and she was provided with a report number.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Sixth Street at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. Officers stood by until medical personnel advised that nothing further was needed.
— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Ridgewood Drive at 9:06 a.m. Tuesday for a reported 911 hang-up- all. Officers made contact at the residence and found no problems.
