Salem

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday for a reported unruly juvenile. The caller advised that the juvenile was not listening and locked themselves in the bathroom. Officers spoke with the juvenile and advised them to cease the behavior and advised the caller to contact officers if the behavior continues.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Fair Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious man. The caller advised that a man had knocked on her door asking for money. After being denied money, they left the area. Officers were unable to locate him.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of North Howard Avenue at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday to assist the fire department with a medical call. The family members who had called for the patient also expressed concerns that the heat in the building was not working. It was found that the heat was not working, but that the landlord was correcting the issue. The patient involved was transported to an appropriate medical facility.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10:43 p.m. Monday for a reported open door. The callers advised that when they returned home, they found their door open. Officers found everything was OK.

— Officers responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue at 9:47 p.m. Monday for a report of a tent blocking the roadway. Officers removed the tent from the roadway.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Fair Avenue at 9:11 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious odor. Officers found it to be a wood burning stove from a nearby residence. The fire department was also contacted due to the smell being abnormal.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Seventh Street at 7:29 p.m. Monday for a 911-hang-up-call. Officers spoke with a resident, and everything was OK.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6 p.m. Monday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that an unknown vehicle was in her driveway. Officers searched the residence but did not locate anyone and advised the caller to have the vehicle towed from the residence.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 4:12 p.m. Monday for a report of two shoplifters. Two female juveniles were taken into custody and released to a guardian. Charges will be filed and sent to the juvenile court.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 9:34 a.m. Monday for a reported stolen vehicle. Officers obtained the information needed on the vehicle, and it was entered into a law enforcement database.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Homewood Avenue at 7:35 a.m. Monday for a reported tree limb in the roadway. Officers removed the limb from the roadway.

Leetonia

— Police investigated an open 911 alarm at 9:27 a.m. Dec. 30 in the 100 block of Walnut Street. The adult recovered the phone from a child and was warned about possible criminal charges if an officer returned in the future for a third time.

— Officers responded at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 29 to an alarm drop at the Leetonia Market to find no sign of forced entry and all doors and windows still secure.
