Sheriff’s Office

— A resident on state Route 39, Washington Township, reported at 5:51 p.m. Wednesday that her neighbor trespassed on her property multiple times and was feeding her horses. She said she has no trespassing signs around the property.

— A welfare check was requested at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday at an address on Eagleton Road, Salem Township, where the caller said a person made unconfirmed threats of self harm and could not longer be reached. A deputy made contact with the person at the residence who said they were fine and were not in need of any medical attention or wanting to harm themselves or others.

— An open 911 line was reported at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday on Hunters Camp Road, Center Township. A deputy made contact with the residents and learned a house guest accidentally dialed 911. The deputy confirmed that no one in the house needed assistance.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6 p.m. Monday to the area of Cameron Road, Madison Township to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a reported accident. The deputy checked the immediate and surrounding areas, but didn’t find the vehicle.

— A deputy at 9:17 p.m. Sunday returned a call regarding menacing on Ridge Road, West Township, speaking with the caller and advising them how to proceed.

— A deputy was dispatched at 11:44 p.m. Dec. 12 to Spillway Road, Hanover Township for a domestic violence report.

Patrol

— There were no citations issued for a Nov. 27 crash in Fairfield Township. Avery C. Bronn, of Cedar Hill, Texas, was northbound on state Route 11 at 5:37 p.m. when he lost control of a vehicle due to the icy road conditions and struck a bridge.

— Isaiah Cambridge, of Steubenville, also was not cited for his crash at 4:34 p.m. Nov. 27 in Fairfield Township, after he went off the left side of state Route 11 while northbound and struck a guardrail.

— Elizabeth Fowler, of East Clark Avenue in East Palestine, was cited for a right-of-way violation, after her crash at 5:34 p.m. Nov. 26 in Unity Township. Constantin Antonie, of Vienna, was southbound on state Route 14, when Fowler backed out a private drive, failed to yield and struck him before continuing off the road and striking an embankment.

— No citation was issued regarding a Center Township crash on Dec. 2. Charlie Honeycutt, of Chestnut St., was northbound at 7:20 a.m. on state Route 45 when he lost control on the snowy highway and slid off the left side of he road, striking a ditch before overturning.

— Cherly Cumberledge, of Kibler Road in New Waterford, was cited at 5:43 p.m. Nov. 27 in Salem Township with failure to control, after her southbound vehicle lost control on state Route 165 and slid of the right side of snow covered road backwards and over an embankment.

— Phillip Menegay of Canton was not cited after a Knox Township crash at 4:26 a.m. Dec. 2. Menegay was westbound on Georgetown Road and went off the left side of the road and hit an utility pole.

— Paul Joy, of East Fifth Street in Salem, was cited at 6 a.m. Nov. 29 in Center Township for failure to control, after his northbound vehicle traveled off the left side of Black Road while negotiating a curve, striking a ditch and a stationary car on the side of the road that had involved in an earlier crash and was awaiting a tow truck.

— Brooklynn Haught, of Dutchtown School Road in Rogers, was cited at 6:08 p.m. Nov. 27 for failure to control, after her northwest bound vehicle went off the right side of Kelly Park Road and struck a ditch.

Lisbon

— An officer on patrol on North Market Street near Spruce Street at 4:40 a.m. Dec. 12 observed a suspicious person in a business parking lot. The person said he had been in an argument with a friend at the gas station and he took his keys and starting walking down the road, but could not remember how to get back. The person also admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine, but said he did not have any on him. The officer gave him a ride back to the gas station in question and found the friend still there. The officer recovered two needles from the person and released him to his friend.

— An officers responded to the 100 block of West Pine Street at 6:02 a.m. Dec. 7 in reference to a possible burglary in progress. The officer found the front door and all windows secure, with no signs of forced entry.

— An officer responded to the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County at 5:49 a.m. Dec. 7 in reference to a disturbance and found a verbal altercation between people regarding cutting in line to apply for heating oil supplements. There was nothing physical reported and the two men were advised to stay away from each other.

— A caller reported at 3:47 p.m. Dec. 5 his walker had been stolen from outside the front of the office near the soda machine at Apple Grove Apartments.

— A caller reported Dec. 4 a protection violation that occurred the previous day. The caller said the male suspect had admitted to her attorney that he had people follow the caller and message him on social media with her location and photos of her out in public. An officer contacted the suspect via email.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of North Market Street at 1:26 a.m. Dec. 3 in reference to a fire and stood by the fire department until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to Race Road near the veterinary clinic at 3:41 p.m. Dec. 2 in reference to three people walking in the roadway yelling at each other. Officer learned that one of the individuals was autistic and became upset while they were walking to a relative’s house. They were advised to not walk in the center of the roadway.

— Officers responded to a 200 block South Jefferson Street business at 1:48 a.m. Nov. 19 in reference to a fight and found two women in an argument near the front door and two men in a physical altercation in front of a vehicle. Cloe McPherson, no age or address listed, was charged with disorderly conduct while Alayna Risbeck, no age or address listed, and Santana Garcia, no age or address listed, were each charged with assault.

Columbiana

— Police requested a retest on a driver due to habitual reckless operation complaints at 8:14 p.m. Dec.13 in the area of old Route 14 and state Route 14.

— A fire hydrant was damaged as a result of a crash at 4:05 p.m. Dec. 13 in the area of East Park and North Elm.

— Stephanie Geary, of Beaver Falls, was arrested at 5:02 Dec. 12 near Sheetz on charges of OVI and OVI (.08-17).

— Richard Houp, of Leetonia, was cited for failure to control at 6:05 p.m. Dec. 6 on North Main Street.

Leetonia

— Police responded to alarm drop at 6:57 p.m. Dec. 15 in the Leetonia water treatment plant. While the exterior fence was locked and secured and no vehicles and footprints were in the fallen snow, water personnel failed to respond to lock the gate, so the interior could be checked.

— A suspicious vehicle complaint was investigated at 1:34 a.m. Dec. 17 driving well below the speed limit on state Route 344.

St. Clair Township

— Officers conducted a welfare check on a female at a Bloomfield Road residence and spoke to her by phone on Dec. 6. The female said she was worried about her daughter who is in an abusive relationship. Officers contacted East Liverpool to do a welfare check on the daughter.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 12:07 a.m. Thursday for a report of telephone harassment. The caller advised that an ex-girlfriend of his was reaching out to his mother and claiming she has rights to live in his apartment despite living elsewhere for more than six months. The caller was advised to have his mother block her on social medical and to secure his apartment door. Officers also added the caller’s address to the frequent patrol list.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday regarding fraudulent transactions on her bank account. Officers advised them of their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the area of Rose Avenue and East Fourth Street at 2:26 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a sick animal in the roadway. Due to the location of the animal, it was unsafe for officers to dispatch the animal, so an Ohio Department of Natural Resources Game Warden responded to the location, dispatched the animal, and removed it.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:01 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer report. The person advised that their birth certificate was in the process of being mailed back to them from the social security office and that when she received the envelope back, it was destroyed. She also advised that they had already contacted the post office but wanted a report on file. Officers advised her to monitor her personal information and file a report if they noticed anything suspicious.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who was voluntarily transported to the emergency room for a medical condition.

— Officers responded to the area of East State Street at 1:21 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Ridgewood Drive at 11:29 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they hadn’t answered prior calls due to their landlord being at the house working.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 9:34 a.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers found that the vehicle was tagged for removal on Dec. 1, and the vehicle was towed.

— Officers on patrol in the area of West State Street and Georgetown Road at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver, Louis White, 53, Beloit, had an active warrant out of Stark County and was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 9:06 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that someone was in his driveway screaming and stumbling around. Officers were unable to locate the person.

— Officers located a man with an active warrant walking on South Lincoln Avenue at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday. Officers took the man, Thams Welsh Jr., 40, Salem, into custody for the warrant and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that their downstairs neighbor had been yelling and sounded as if they were distraught. Officers spoke with the neighbor, and they advised that they were fine and didn’t need anything.
