Sheriff Reports

–A deputy responded at 6:01 p.m. Monday to a property on Speidel Road, Hanover Township for a stolen vehicle report. The report did not describe the vehicle, but the complainant was advised it would be entered into the law enforcement data base as stolen.

— A juvenile-related incident was reported at 5:32 p.m. Sunday at the Deer Run Mobile Home Park, U.S. Route 62, Butler Township. A deputy spoke with the mother, who advised everything was good.

— An alarm drop was reported at 9:38 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of state Route 45, Salem Township. A deputy checked the immediate area and found everything secure.

–A deputy was dispatched at 11:43 p.m. Friday to Spillway Road, Hanover Township for a domestic violence report.

— A woman on state Route 644, Hanover Township, reported at 10:30 p.m. Friday that a man continues to harass her through text message, phone calls and trespassing on her property, entering her residence when she’s not present and telling her to go kill herself and hang herself in a tree. She was advised how to obtain a protection order.

— Deputies were dispatched at 8:27 p.m. Friday to the 33900 block of state Route 172, Hanover Township, for a man laying in a ditch, but when they checked the area, no one was found.

— A man on Macklin Road, Unity Township reported at 7:14 p.m. Friday that he wanted a Youngstown man removed from his property. While deputies were enroute, he advised the Youngstown man left.

— A Salem woman reported at 6:28 p.m. Friday that she had a custody exchange in the parking lot of the Dollar General, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton Township, with her children’s father, who resides in West Township. She left the parking lot in her vehicle and said he has the children and is intoxicated. A deputy spoke with the man, who was not intoxicated or had any indication at all that he consumed any alcohol.

— A deputy checked the area of Thomas Road, Center Township at 5:37 p.m. Thursday regarding a 911 hangup call. The area was checked and nothing out of the ordinary was found.

— A deputy responded at 4:35 p.m. Thursday to a Lisa Lane residence, Center Township, for a civil matter, advising the caller how to proceed. The deputy also returned a call at 5:19 p.m. Thursday regarding a civil matter at a Steubenville Pike Road, Wayne Township property, advising the people how to proceed.

— An unruly juvenile was reported at 6:31 p.m. Thursday on Walnut Street, Rogers.

–A criminal mischief report was taken at the Quick Mart & More, state Route 45, Center Township, at 4:44 p.m. Thursday.

— An alarm was reported at 12:16 a.m. Dec. 10 at XL Sand & Gravel, state Route 170, Middleton Township. The building was checked and appeared secure.

— A suspicious man was reported jumping in and out of traffic in the area of the Family Dollar store, state Route 172, Hanover Township, at 8:59 p.m. Dec. 9, but no one was found.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:08 p.m. Dec. 9 to Steubenville Pike Road at Spring Valley Road, Washington Township, for a suspicious vehicle parked in the area described as a blue Ford Escape. The area was checked, with nothing found.

— Deputies responded at 2:21 a.m. Dec. 9 to an alarm at Robinson Tree Farm, U.S. Route 30, Center Township. The residence and out buildings were checked and appeared secure at all doors and windows.

— An active alarm was reported at 12:45 a.m. Dec. 9 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course, Homeworth Road, Knox Township. Deputies checked the perimeter of the building and found it secure.

— Deputies responded at 11:53 p.m. Dec. 7 to the Pit Stop, Wayne Township, for an alarm, finding everything secure after checking the windows and doors.

— An alarm was reported at 8:37 p.m. Dec. 7 at Global Pak, Elkton Road, Elkrun Township.A deputy was met by a keyholder who advised everything was secure and in place.

— A deputy responded at 8:35 p.m. Dec. 7 to Lisbon Road, Salem Township, to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol in an accident they had. The patrol units said they would handle the incident, due to the person being under the influence.

— A deputy was dispatched at 11:16 p.m. Dec. 6 to the parking lot of Beaver Creek Candles, County Home Road, Center Township, for a person having suicidal thoughts. Hanover Township EMS and Lifeteam EMS arrived and Lifeteam EMS transported the person to East Liverpool City Hospital in East Liverpool.

— A domestic violence incident was reported at 7:04 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Calcutta Walmart. A woman said the man had been arguing with her all day and when she went to work, he decided to come to the store to confront her. He allegedly lunged at her and grabbed her arm. Other employees separated both parties. The victim reported no injuries and security video was obtained. Michael A. Williams, 32, Maine Boulevard, East Liverpool, was charged with domestic violence, with the case pending in county Municipal Court.

— Deputies were called at 5:17 a.m. Dec. 5 to an address on Darlington Road, Middleton Township where a woman caller wanted a man removed from the residence for causing a disturbance. Deputies arrived and learned both the woman and the man reside there. When the man was asked if he could leave for a short time, the woman became angry and said she could not be left alone. Deputies attempted to clarify her reason for calling them in the first place and explained they could not force residents to leave their home in this situation and assisted them in solving their current argument.

Salem

–Officers responded with the fire department to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 2:35 p.m. Friday for a report of a combative person. Officers stood by until the person in question was transported.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of West Sixteenth Street at 1:25 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised that on Monday he received an email that an unknown person had tried to change his password for his credit card. He further advised that he’d already spoken with his credit card company but wanted the incident documented.

–Chloe Hudock, 23, Canfield, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after their southbound vehicle in the 1200 block of North Lincoln Avenue struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Brittney Risden, 34, Salem, at 10:59 a.m. Friday. Hudock was transported by EMT for possible injuries.

–Officers on patrol in the area of North Broadway Avenue and East State Street at 1:58 a.m. Tuesday located a vehicle parked illegally. Officers located the owner, and the vehicle was moved.

–Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 1:38 a.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of East Seventh Street at 7:35 p.m. Monday for a reported burglary. The caller advised that he was in the process of moving and returned home to find that someone had broken in. Officers cleared the residence and found that the back door of the residence had a shattered window with footprints in the snow leading up to the door. Officers took photos and advised the homeowner to call back if he found anything missing, and that officers would have an extra watch in the area.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of Jennings Avenue at 5:33 p.m. Monday for a reported noise complaint. Officers checked the area, but all was quiet.

–Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 1:32 p.m. Monday for a report that buffalo was walking around in the area. Officers checked the area but did not locate the animal.
