Perry Township
–Officers on patrol in the area of U.S. Route 62 and North Ellsworth Avenue observed a vehicle turn onto U.S. Route 62 while driving on the wrong side of the roadway at 1:51 a.m. Sunday. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver, Marquis Rosa, Youngstown, was cited for failure to register and for driving without insurance.
–Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:37 p.m. Thursday for a reported single-vehicle accident. When officers arrived the Ohio State Highway Patrol was on scene and took over the investigation. The driver was transported with signs of intoxication, and officers stood by for traffic control until the roadway could be cleared.
–Officers responded with the fire department to the 1300 block of Manor Drive at 5:02 p.m. Thursday for a report of a possible water line break. Officers located the break, and the water and street departments were notified.
–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 6:01 p.m. Thursday for a report of harassment. Officers advised the caller to block the person in question.
–Amanda Mena, 30, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after her vehicle attempted to enter South Lincoln Avenue from a private parking lot, causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven northbound by Dustin Graham, 31, Washingtonville, at 3:38 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.
–Officers responded to Blossom Nursing to speak with an employee about a complaint at 2:40 p.m. Thursday. The complaint was unfounded.
–Courtney Foor, 27, Lisbon, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device after her southbound vehicle on Cunningham Road struck a vehicle driven Eastbound on state Route 344 at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
Salem
–Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 10:49 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers checked the residence but did not locate the woman. Further investigation showed the woman had willingly left the area, and while on scene officers observed three animals left behind by the woman. The humane officer was contacted and will be responding to obtain the animals.
–Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:31 a.m. Monday to assist the fire department with a medical call. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Street at 12:16 a.m. Monday for a warrant check. A man was checked for warrants and found not to be the wanted person.
–Officers in the 2300 block of East State Street at 10:17 p.m. Sunday checked on a vehicle that had a person inside. The person advised that they had fallen asleep but were okay.
–Officers spoke with employees at Salem West Healthcare at 5:58 p.m. Sunday regarding an alleged assault that had taken place. A patient claimed to have been assaulted by an STNA. The patient was taken to the hospital, and the company is investigating the matter further. They were advised to contact officers if there were any updates or if any further assistance is needed.
–Officers responded to the area of East School Street and East Fifth Street at 3:12 p.m. Sunday for a parking complaint. Officers spoke to the owner of the vehicle who moved it.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of Fair Avenue at 1:15 p.m. Sunday for a possible domestic. The caller did not appear to have any physical injuries, nor did the other half. The caller filled out a written statement, and the other half advised they would come to the police department to fill out a statement later that day.
–Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 12:35 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possible fight that occurred the night prior. Officers spoke to staff at the facility who advised both parties have medical conditions and do not remember the altercation. They also advised that there were no injuries to either patient, and they just had to document the incident.
–Officers responded to the 1300 block of East Eleventh Street at 10:43 a.m. Sunday for a reported water line break. The break was confirmed, and the water department was contacted.
–Officers responded to the 1000 block of West State Street at 5:10 a.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers checked on two vehicles with no further issues.
–Officers responded to the 2200 block of Merle Road at 8:47 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless operator. The person in question had already left prior to officers’ arrival.
–Officers responded to the 200 block of West Pershing Street at 6:08 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person inside a vacant property. Officers spoke to the person in question, who was boarding up the windows.
–Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Fairview Avenue at 5:20 p.m. Saturday for a parking complaint. The caller advised that there was a box truck parked in the middle of the road. Officers found that the truck was making a delivery. Officers stood by until the delivery was complete.
–Donald Eberle, 58, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Christine Rupert, 56, Burghill, Ohio, while pulling out of a private property at 4:32 p.m. Saturday.
–Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 4:24 p.m. Saturday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that a neighbor had told him there was a woman in his apartment, and he wanted them removed. Officers advised the woman to gather her belongings and leave, which she did.
–Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard at 10:25 a.m. Saturday for a possible water line break. Officers located the break in the 1700 block of Southeast Boulevard, and the water department was advised of the situation.
–Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 9:14 a.m. Saturday for a wellness check. The caller advised that she was unable to contact their mother. Officers were able to speak with the woman and found them to be okay.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of South Union Avenue at 10:59 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible domestic incident. Officers spoke with both parties involved, who were under the influence and offered conflicting stories. Neither party had any obvious injury, resulting in the matter being inconclusive, and both parties were advised to stay away from one another for the night.
–Officers responded to the 600 block of East Euclid Street at 10:02 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller was concerned about the nature of comments made by the person in question. Officers spoke with the person who denied needing any help and said that they were okay.
–Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 9:27 p.m. Friday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found that the dispute was verbal only, and they had separated for the night.
–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 7:39 p.m. Friday for a report of shoplifting. Officers took Travis Culler, 37, Salem, into custody for the theft of over $100 in merchandise.
–Officers responded to the 200 block of East Third Street at 4:06 p.m. Friday for a reported water line break. Officers located the leak inside a rental property, and the water department responded and shut off water to the residence.
–Officers responded to the 800 block of Superior Avenue at 4 p.m. Friday for a report of fraud. A check was stolen and cashed by an unknown person, and the matter is under investigation.
–Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 3:02 p.m. Friday for a reported fight in progress. The involved parties were separated when officers arrived, and both had visible injuries. Medical personnel were requested to the scene, and one party and a witness filled out statements while the other was transported to the hospital. Possible charges are pending.
