St. Clair Township

— A driver was given a verbal warning following a Nov. 20 traffic stop on state Route 267 for plates registered to a white GMC on a vehicle appearing to be a red Chevy. The driver said he was in the process of fixing the old white truck by using scrap parts off his other truck which was red. The officer looked at the vehicle and verified that the vehicle was white.

— A driver was given a warning following a Nov. 20 traffic stop on state Route 170 for an expired registration.

— An officer waited next to a downed telephone pole leaning across the roadway on state Route 170 pm Nov. 20 until the CVFD arrived to sit with the pole until the power company could get there.

— An officer responded to the area of St. Clair Avenue and H&R Block on Nov. 21 for a reported minor traffic accident. The officer searched the area but did not see anything.

— An officer checking out a noise complaint at a Birch Road residence on Nov. 21 checked around the house which was completely dark and found no music playing.

— Officers spoke with a male in the Arby’s parking lot who was reported to be following his ex-wife on Nov. 21, and he told them it was his weekend to have his daughter. He was advised that it was a civil matter and to call his attorney and if he continued to follow his ex-wife, he could be charged.

— Officers responded to state Route 170 on Nov. 21 for a report of an automated crash detection. The officer was looking for the vehicle when dispatch notified him that a female called and said it was accidental.

— Officers arrived at a state Route 267 residence on Nov. 21 for a breaking and entering report. A female who lived next door to her father told officers she believed someone was in her dad’s garage. Officers searched the garage and found a female in the back of it. They spoke with the caller’s father who said he was aware the girl was there, but he didn’t want her there after dark and said she could come back when it was daylight. The female gathered some of her belongings and her heater and was giving a courtesy transport to Boring Lane.

Perry Township

— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 9:45 a.m. Thursday regarding a fraudulent check being cashed from her account. They advised that in late August they had lost a physical check at a business in Boardman that had been cashed on Nov. 28 for $850. She had already reported the incident to Sam’s Club and her bank and investigation is pending.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Ohio Boulevard at 5:23 a.m. Thursday for a reported medical call. Officers assisted until EMT arrived.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 7:29 p.m. Tuesday regarding fraud. The caller advised that a check had been issued for “just over $500” to pay a bill which was mailed but never received, and that they now had a pending charge of $3,500 for the same check that was issued. The transaction was canceled, and a report will be on file.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Depot Road at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a woman at the residence who was confused and the fire department and EMT responded to evaluate them. The woman was ultimately transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.

— Officers responded to several reports of vehicles which went off the roadway throughout the day Tuesday. Officers provided traffic control while vehicles were removed and assisted the drivers until they were no longer needed.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 10 a.m. Monday regarding a criminal offense that occurred in the township involving juveniles. Officers collected necessary information, and the incident is under investigation.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 2:29 a.m. Thursday for a reported domestic issue. Officers found that no violence had occurred, and one party had left for the time being. Officers collected information on the incident and on a previous incident at the property.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 1:40 a.m. Thursday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that there had been several civil issues regarding residency and gifts of money and wanted officers to remove their live-in boyfriend from the residence. When officers advised the caller that they would need to file for eviction to have them removed she made several more claims, including one regarding assault. When asked if she wanted to fill out a voluntary statement, they declined and were advised of the eviction process again.

— Officers spoke with a person who appeared to be running away from something in the 600 block of Newgarden Avenue into a business at 8:27 p.m. Wednesday. They advised that they were doing so to get out of the cold.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Arch Street at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they had not heard from their son in several days and that they had not appeared for a recent court date. Officers attempted contact at the man’s residence, but nobody answered the door. Their vehicle was present in the driveway, and several surveillance cameras were on the house.

— Officers responded to the 2100 block of Monroe Street at 12:51 p.m. Wednesday for a report of theft. The caller advised that their medication had been delivered to the wrong address and signed for by an unknown person. The caller later contacted the department again and advised that their medication was on a pallet which had been shipped to the Salem Regional Medical Center and that there had been a misunderstanding.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday regarding their business being a victim of fraud. They advised that over the summer two unknown men falsely claiming to work for their business had done work for some of their customers. Officers advised them of the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Hawley Avenue at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday for a parking complaint. The caller advised that a dump truck had been parked in front of their residence for an extended amount of time. The vehicle was removed by Kaiser Towing.

— Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and Sugartree Alley at 8:17 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an obstructed roadway. The caller advised that a storm drain was missing and causing a traffic hazard. Officers were able to cover the drain, and the street department was notified.
