Sheriff’s Office
— An Alliance man reported at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday that four cemetery brass vases were missing from his father, brother, aunt and grandmother’s graves at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, South 12th Street, Knox Township. The sheriff’s office has received at least two or more other calls related to thefts from graves at the cemetery this month.
— A man on Bell Road, Elkrun Township asked for a report to be on file at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday that a person from Center Township was not to be on his property per a court order from Juvenile Court. He was advised to contact Juvenile Court.
— A Knox Township woman on North Shore Drive reported at 3:14 p.m. Tuesday that she told a man to move off of her property a few days ago and now he’s taking her carport. A deputy spoke with both the woman and the man who both said they own the carport. Both were advised to take the property matter to civil court.
— An unruly juvenile was reported at 8:56 p.m. Monday in the area of Steubenville Pike Road, Wayne Township. A deputy spoke with all involved and found everything to be in good order.
— A deputy was dispatched at 10:31 p.m. Oct. 11 to Carey Road at state Route 9, Butler Township, for a suspicious man walking in the middle of the road possibly intoxicated. The deputy checked the area, but did not find anyone.
— A man from Southeast Boulevard, Salem reported at 9:21 p.m. Oct. 11 that a suspicious vehicle drove onto the property where he hunts on state Route 154, Elkrun Township, then exited the property.
— A woman from state Route 558, Salem Township, reported at 8:14 p.m. Oct. 11 that she sold a washer and driver on Facebook Market Place and she received two $100 bills that she thought were fake. She was advised to go to the bank. She called back and said the bank told her the bills are not fake.
— A West Township man on Rochester Road reported at 4:47 p.m. Oct. 11 that a relative has been sending him harassing text messages due to him telling the relative not to come to his residence and to stay off of his property.
— A deputy was dispatched at 3:50 p.m. Oct. 11 to a property on U.S. Route 30, West Township where a person was making suicidal threats and took a bunch of medication. Sandy Creek EMS transported the person to a hospital in Stark County.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Euclid Street at 11:13 p.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that a person was driving past the house revving his engine. Officers located the vehicle, but the person in question was not the same person described.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 3:43 p.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious person complaint. The caller advised that they were taking trash to a dumpster in a fenced in area when they observed a man come in from behind a dumpster and come to the front of the building and was unsure if they were still in the fenced in area. Officers checked the dumpster and surrounding areas but were unable to locate them.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:56 p.m. Sunday to assist medical personnel with a distraught individual. Officers spoke with the individual who was voluntarily transported by EMT to a medical facility for further assistance.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 12:21 p.m. Sunday for a reported speak with officer complaint. The caller advised that a neighbor was taking advantage of another neighbor in the complex and alleged elder abuse. Officers gathered all information and spoke with the parties involved. Nothing criminal was determined nor was any form of elder abuse noted.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:54 a.m. Sunday regarding a probation violation involving their ex-husband. The woman advised that she was attending a church service when she observed the ex sitting across the aisle from her and that their family has been attending this church for a few years and the ex had never attended previously. The woman said no contact was made but they and their family left immediately and came to the police department to make a report.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:45 a.m. Sunday for a report of fraud. The person advised that a fraudulent cell phone account had been opened in his name by his mother with three cell phones. The caller advised that he was unaware of the account and had recently learned that a balance of $3,400 was owed when he attempted to make a purchase and was denied due to his credit being affected. He requested a report so that he could dispute the charge with the cellular company.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 11:28 a.m. Sunday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers could hear a disturbance prior to knocking and announcing themselves, but nobody was responding to the door, nor to the rear door. Officers identified themselves at the front door again and advised the occupants to open the door or it would be forced open and a man and woman came out and were separated to speak with officers. Both advised that they had gotten into a heated verbal dispute, but there were neither threats nor violence. The female half advised that she had not had any sleep and just wanted to get her phone and leave for the time being. The male half located the phone and officers suggested both get some rest and talk later in the day after letting their emotions cool down. The female half was assisted with transportation to a family member’s residence.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 7:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a patient attacking the care workers. The patient had calmed down prior to the officers’ arrival and was subsequently transported by EMT to a care facility in another city. The individual has been progressively combative during the past several days, but no staff member had been physically assaulted or injured.
