–Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday to check a residence for potential squatters. It was reported by a prior shift that someone had possibly been entering the vacant home and sleeping there through the night on multiple nights. Officers checked the exterior of the residence and found it to be secure.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 1:24 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that an unknown person was on their front porch. Officers spoke with the person who advised that they were visiting a neighbor and had just stepped onto the porch out of the rain to put her hoodie on.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:51 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman in question who advised that they were okay.
–Jennifer Coletta, 49, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her northbound vehicle on South Lincoln Avenue struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Joshue Mighell, 32, Salem, at 8:47 p.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported.
–Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday for a warrant check. Officers spoke with a resident who advised the wanted person did not live there.
–Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday for a warrant check. Officers spoke with a resident who advised that the person in question was at a rehab facility in Columbus.
–Officers responded to the 1300 block of Robin Avenue at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday for a civil matter. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
–Officers responded to the area of West Pershing Street at 1:24 p.m. Tuesday observed a person slumped forward in a parked vehicle. Officers spoke with the person who confirmed that he was fine and said that they were train watching and had taken a brief nap while waiting for the next train to pass through.
–The School Resource Officer was advised of an issue with a student at 1:23 p.m. Tuesday. The issue was investigated, and nothing was found.
–Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that the apartment next door had an alarm going off for almost an hour. Officers spoke with the neighbor and determined everything was fine.
–Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal trespassing. The caller advised that a known man had been trespassing on their property and wanted them to be served with a trespass notice. The notice was signed and will be served once the person is located.
–Officers responded to the area of Dodge Drive at 7:24 a.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute between parents at a bus stop. Officers advised them not to talk to each other and to just wait for the bus to pick up their children and go home.
–Officers responded to the 200 block of South Howard Avenue at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible prowler. The caller advised that a person had sent her a photo of her house while she was at work and that she wanted to make a report. Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. Officers stood by until everything was deemed to be okay.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 11:20 p.m. Monday for a report of people arguing. Officers spoke with a woman who advised that they were just talking, and they were advised to keep the noise down.
–Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:08 p.m. Monday for a possibly suicidal person. Officers spoke with the person who advised that he was okay and did not want to harm himself.
–Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 9:07 p.m. Monday for a reported traffic offense. Officers located the vehicle and issued the driver, whose name was not listed, with a citation for the violation.
–Officers responded to the 1700 block of Quaker Lane at 8:26 p.m. Monday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that a small child was walking near Sebo Stadium towards the roadway with no clothes on. Officers checked the area for several minutes but were unable to locate the juvenile.
–Officers responded to Waterworth Memorial Park at 6:42 p.m. Monday for a reported medical call. Officers stood by due to the caller having a history of being combative. Once everything was deemed okay, EMT transported them to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
–Officers responded to the 900 block of East Sixth Street at 3:23 a.m. Thursday for a report of what was thought to be a dead animal. It was found that it was actually leaves.
–Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:48 a.m. Thursday for a report of possible harassment. Officers spoke with the person and advised them that the matter would be documented and to call back if the problem persists. However, it was found after speaking with another officer who dealt with the other half of the situation that the matter is mutual. If any parties listed are contacted again, all involved will be advised to cease and desist.
–Officers responded to the 1900 block of Oak Street at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties involved and collected information about the matter, and one party voluntarily left for the night, and both parties were advised to call if anything else was needed.
–Officers responded to the 1900 block of Whinery Road at 9:57 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers saw that the child in question was okay and sleeping and spoke with the mother who advised that there was an ongoing custody dispute with the father of the child.
–Officers responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 8:52 p.m. Wednesday for a report of phone harassment. Officers spoke with all parties involved and told them to block one another and not have any more contact with each other.
–Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Portage County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation. Officers were unable to locate what they were looking for.
–The School Resource Officer was advised by staff and school administrators of an issue with a student at 2:42 p.m. Wednesday. The officer and administrators investigated the issue and spoke with the student in question who admitted to making the comment and all information was gathered. Officers spoke with the student’s legal guardians about the issue, and the student was disciplined by the school, and the matter will be sent to the Juvenile Court for review.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 2:11 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that she was having issues with a fellow employee, and after speaking with both parties found that nothing criminal had occurred.
–Officers responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question, and they were subsequently transported to the emergency room by ambulance.
–Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday to assist the housing department. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
–Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:22 a.m. Wednesday who wanted somebody to be trespassed from their property. The caller advised that there is an ongoing issue with a person from a neighboring business using their parking lot without permission. A trespass notice was signed for the person in question, and officers advised them that they had been trespassed from the property and would be arrested if they returned.
–Officers responded to the 300 block of Morgan Court at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller, who works for the Liberty Township Police Department, advised that a person was reported missing from their jurisdiction and was believed to be at the residence. Officers attempted but were unable to contact them.
