­– An officer conducting a welfare check on a Shady Lane resident on Sept. 17 was informed by a neighbor the female was seen leaving the residence four or five days prior and hasn’t been seen since.

— An officer on his way to Thompson Park to check out a dirt complaint on Sept. 17 was notified by dispatch that the caller called back in and said the dirt bike was loaded into a blue dodge pickup.

— An officer responded to a Florence Street residence on Sept. 19 for a family dispute over a car. A female told the officer that the other female had been using the vehicle owned by the mother and she wasn’t supposed to. The female said she was going to keep using the car because she makes the payments but was informed by the officer that didn’t matter because the vehicle was owned by the mother.

— A female told an officer on Sept. 17 that someone tried to jump her on Lincoln Avenue and gave the name of another female and asked officers to contact her and tell her not to contact her again. Officers went to a Lincoln Avenue residence and asked to speak to the female and was told she already left. – A mother and son who was reported to officers for sitting in a driveway with their four-way flashers on arguing on Lisbon Street on Sept. 17 told officers they were not arguing, just upset that they had run out of gas and that there were no issues. The officer stood by until another party brought gas for the vehicle.

— Officers responded to a Shady Lane resident on Sept. 17 for a DOA.

— Officers searched a portion of state Route 39 on Sept. 17 for a male reportedly riding a bicycle on the freeway.

— Officers were requested to a welfare check on a juvenile on Sept. 17 at a Lee Street residence by the father.

— A school resource officer arrived at a Michigan Ave. residence on Sept. 17 to follow a parent and male juvenile to school to meet with his probation officer after the mother had to call officers to the residence because the juvenile became combative when she tried to get him up for school.

— The driver of a van who was reported for honking the horn on Jefferson Street on Sept. 17 told the responding officer that she was trying to locate a friend who she was supposed to need a ride to but they were not answering.

— An officer observed an old drug house on Ohio Avenue on Sept. 17 looking for a dark colored vehicle that had been reported outside the house.

— Officers told a male who was not listed on a lease that he was not permitted to be on any CMHA properties that he had to gather his things in leave when they responded to a disturbance all at a Wilbert Avenue residence on Sept. 17.

— A female told officers on Sept. 17 that while she was using the restroom at Giant Eagle an employee knocked on the door and she told them that she was in there, but the male employee walked in anyways and observed her sitting on the toilet and then turned around and left. The female also told the officer the only way into the restroom was with a key. Officers spoke to the employee who said he was doing a restroom check and that he knocked didn’t hear any response, opened the unlocked door and saw the female washing her hands. – A female was advised by officers to have no contact with another female after officers responded on Sept. 17 to Lincoln Avenue where the two were reported for shouting at each other.

— A male came to the station on Sept. 17 regarding his vehicle being hit the night before. He told officers he did not have want an accident report, just wanted it documented.

— Officers responding to W. 2nd Street on Sept. 17 for a report of suspicious activity spoke to a resident that told them she had reason to believe someone was around her garage due to her dog barking. Officers checked the area and found no signs of foul play or damage. – An officer transported a female and her infant to her grandmother’s house after responding to a domestic violence situation in the 1000 block of Ambrose Avenue on Sept. 17. After speaking with both parties involved the officer called the on-call prosecutor and advised her of the situation. He told her both parties made allegations but there was no clear aggressor or proof to support either statement. The officer was advised to tell both parties to separate and warned of possible charges if there were any further issues. Both parties signed a domestic violence refusal form.

— A male called the police department on Sept. 17 to report another male had tried to poison his children. He told police he had kicked the male out of his house and after he left when he looked at his children’s drinks there was cleaning supplies in them, but he had no proof that the male had done anything.

St. Clair

— An officer made the decision to put a deer down due to it having no chance of survival from the injuries it sustained after being struck by a vehicle Sept. 17 on Old Fredericktown Road.

— Officers were dispatched to Cornell Street for a report of a male putting his hands on a female on Sept. 17.

— A female came to the police station to report fraud on her WesBanco Account. She told officers between Aug. 20 and Sept. 17 there were over 174 transactions ranging up to $20 taken from her account without her authorization.

— Officers received a report of a red vehicle parked behind Giant Eagle with an extension cord running from the store on Sept. 17. When they arrived, they found the car with two people sleeping inside. The couple were told they could not hook up to any business for power without permission and they needed to move along.

— A male came to the station on Sept. 17 to file a civil report about his ex-wife having the vehicle they both have a title for.

— A verbal warning was issued to a driver for having a headlight out following a Sept. 17 traffic stop on Dresden Avenue. The driver told the officer she had hit a deer, and the headlight was being ordered.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 5:18 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a person who had left the emergency room with and IV in. Officers located the person walking near State Street and Broadway Avenue and gave him a ride back to the hospital to have the IV taken out.

— Officers responded to the area of South Broadway Avenue at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a person walking down the middle of the roadway. The person appeared to be okay, and officers advised them to stay off the roadway and walk on the sidewalk.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Madison Avenue at 12:07 a.m. Tuesday for a civil standby. Officers stood by while one of the parties collected their belongings and left.

— Officers responded to Salem Regional Medical Center at 9:26 p.m. Monday for a report of drug paraphernalia that was recovered from a patient. Officers collected the item and brought it back to our department where it was destroyed.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Whinnery Road at 8:46 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman in question who officers had been looking for in a previous call. The woman advised that people were following her and was not make sense, and she then requested medical attention and the fire department and EMT responded and transported her to the hospital for evaluation.

— Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Franklin Avenue at 8:35 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on a woman walking in the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the woman.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:04 p.m. Monday for a criminal damaging report. The caller advised that their vehicle was struck with what they believed to be a rock while driving. Further investigation found the object was possibly a dead nicotine vape thrown on the ground while the vehicle was passing by. Statements were collected from both parties and will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

— Officers responded to the area of East 14th Street and Shady Lane at 6:56 p.m. Monday for a report of reckless operation. The caller alleged that a neighbor was riding dirt bikes in the area. Officers checked the area and the person on question’s residence, and nothing was located.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 6:54 p.m. Monday regarding reported threats. The caller advised that while Door Dashing his former employer began to threaten him and was trying to fight him, and that he had come to the police department from the business to make a report. He also advised that this is not the first time that he has done this. Officers contacted the person in question who denied ever threatening the caller and said that he only wanted to talk to him about money that was owed to him.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 6:35 p.m. Monday for a report of a person using a credit card without permission. Officers collected information and spoke with the person in question who claimed to know nothing about the matter and was not in possession of the card. Officers had the parties fill out statements and the matter will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for determination.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 6:04 p.m. Monday regarding a bad check which was sent by a scam entity. Officers advised the person no to interact with it and to dispose of it and to contact them if there were any further issues

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 3:51 p.m. Monday for a reported theft. Officers were advised that a man had entered the store four different times in the same day and taken $53.28 in merchandise without paying. The man was identified, and charges are pending.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:31 p.m. Monday for a reported suspicious person. Officers located the person in question and after speaking with him transported him back to his residence.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Hawley Avenue at 10:96 a.m. Monday for a report of accidental damage. The caller, who was the driver of a garbage truck, advised that his truck had caught a low hanging wire and snapped a telephone pole. All damage was documented.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of West State Street at 7:09 p.m. Sunday for a report of two people standing in front of a train and jumping away before being struck. They were located on Jennings Avenue and advised to remain off of the tracks.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West Pershing Street at 6:45 p.m. Sunday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with both parties who advised that they were having a disagreement. The male half left and the two were separated for the night.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Howard Avenue at 6:12 p.m. Sunday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that a relative was sleeping in their residence and they wanted them to leave. Officers spoke with the person in question Joseph Stewart, 50, Youngstown, who was found to have an active warrant out of Columbiana County. He was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:53 p.m. Sunday regarding their daughter. The caller advised that his daughter was slandering them on social media and harassing him via his phone despite living in the same house with him. He was provided with his options for having them evicted from the residence and officers spoke with the daughter who provided a different story from the caller’s but was advised to cease her actions.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Sixth Street at 5:53 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman, and everything checked okay.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 5 p.m. Sunday for a medical call. The caller advised that they had a seizure and needed medical attention. EMT transported the woman to the hospital.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East State Street at 12:54 p.m. Sunday observed a man walking down the sidewalk stumbling. When officers attempted to speak with the man, William Roberts, 38, Salem, he started walking away and was then seen running between buildings. Officers ordered him to stop, which he complied with but was heavily intoxicated and became irate and belligerent while speaking with officers. Roberts was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Avenue at 11:56 p.m. Saturday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they did not want their boyfriend to take a juvenile from the residence and that they were on the way home to get them. Officers were unable to contact anyone at the residence.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 11:21 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless operator. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle in question, and everything checked okay.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Ninth Street at 10:01 p.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that somebody had been messing with their security camera. Officers advised them that extra patrols would be conducted in the area and to contact the police department if anything suspicious was seen on the camera.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 9:21 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless operator. Officers checked the area, but the vehicles had already left. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart and officers spoke with all parties involved and advised them of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of East 10th Street at 8:57 p.m. Saturday for a reported disorderly person. The caller advised that her son was being irate with her and made comments of self-harm. The son claimed that the comments were a misunderstanding and denied treatment from first responders.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Third Street at 7:38 p.m. Saturday for a reported juvenile problem. Contact was made with both parties, and they were told to stay away from each other.

— Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:03 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless driver. Officers located the vehicle at their residence on North Lincoln Avenue and spoke with the driver who advised that someone was following them, and they were not driving recklessly.

— Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East State Street at 5:35 p.m. Sunday for a reported reckless operator. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle in question but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 4:17 p.m. Sunday for a reported theft. Officers spoke with the caller and attempted to locate the person in question, ultimately locating him at a nearby business later in the night. Officers took the man, Geoffrey Forney, 31, Salem, into custody and transported him the police department for processing and issued him a summons and court date for a charge of theft.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 3:14 p.m. Sunday for a reported incident regarding their juvenile daughter. Officers collected the necessary information, and the incident will be forwarded to a detective.

— Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 3:20 p.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. The manager of a business advised a vehicle had pulled into their parking lot and dumped trash, and that they had also seen what looked like newer model televisions in the bed of the truck which might have been stolen. They did not want anything to be done at that time regarding the dumping but wanted officers to be aware of the incident.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 1:53 p.m. for a reported irate person. Officers advised a man was breaking windows at the location and going manic. Officers were able to contact the man who advised of relationship issues and that he had busted a window to a vehicle that no longer ran. Officers attempted to calm the person, but he was later transported by EMT to a local hospital for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Allen Road at 1:33 p.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a man was seen pulled off near the train tracks and that he appeared to be setting up a camp site. Officers spoke with the man and found no camp site was being set up. The man advised that he will be on the way shortly.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East School Street at 12:33 p.m. Saturday for a report of possible cruelty towards an animal. Contact was made with the parents, and all parties were advised of the matter and the seriousness of the situation. It was found that no physical harm was done to the animal, and no charges are being filed at this time.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 10:20 a.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised that around 11 p.m. the night prior an unknown man had taken two items off their front porch then went into the neighbor’s apartment. Officers attempted to contact the neighbor but were unable. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue and West Wilson Street at 9:02 a.m. Saturday for a report of a man seen waving down vehicles. Officers discovered the man was a truck driver looking for an address. Officers advised the driver where they needed to go.

— Officers on patrol in the 600 block of East Pershing Street at 12:08 a.m. Saturday observed an intoxicated person walking outside. Officers gave them a ride to their residence and advised him to find a ride next time.

— Officers were flagged down in the area of North Lincoln Avenue at 10:29 p.m. Friday by a person who advised that a man was hiding by their vehicles in the alley between East Fifth and East Sixth Street. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

— Officers on patrol in the 700 block of West State Street at 9:25 p.m. Friday observed a suspicious person. Officers spoke with a juvenile and their parent who were at a storage unit and found everything to be okay.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 8:54 p.m. Friday for a possible robbery. The caller advised that a business was being robbed by two men. Officers spoke with an employee of the business who advised that one of the men reported was the manager and that everything was okay.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East School Street at 8:40 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they were concerned the juvenile in question may attempt to harm themselves. Officers spoke with the juvenile and a parent who advised everything was okay.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department for a report of fraud at 8:20 p.m. Friday. The caller was advised that a $436.70 charge was made to his bank account and that he had already addressed the issue with his bank but was advised that a police report was needed. A report was placed on file, and the caller was provided with a report number.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Seventh Street at 7:51 p.m. Friday for a report of solicitors. Contact was made with the person in question, and they were advised of the city’s stance on soliciting. He and his supervisor were requested to stop.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 7:31 p.m. Friday for a reported attempt to locate a man with an active warrant. Officers attempted to contact them but were unable to.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Ohio Avenue and East State Street at 6:41 p.m. Friday observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and K-9 Fero was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor coming from the vehicle during the stop. Contraband was located in the vehicle and officers issued a warning to the driver.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Seventh Street at 6:01 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller asked what could be done about his daughter taking his vehicle without his permission, officers advised him of his options.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Street at 3:44 p.m. Friday for a reported juvenile dispute. Officers advised the juveniles to remain separated for the evening. The parents were present and aware of the issue.

— Officers responded to the area of Superior Avenue and Waterworth Memorial Park at 12:16 p.m. Friday for a report of a person with a rifle. Officers spoke with the person and confirmed the rifle to be a pellet gun. Officers advised the individual that open carry was not illegal, but it can cause a panic and has resulted in several complaints from concerned citizens. Officers requested the person avoid traveling near any schools while transporting the rifle which they agreed to.

— Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and Superior Avenue at 11:24 a.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a man riding a bicycle had what appeared to be a firearm in a basket mounted on the bike. Officers checked the surrounding streets but were unable to locate the man.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 8:34 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. The child of the woman called a doctor’s office advising he could not wake his mother up. Officers spoke with the woman and found there to be no issues.
