Salem
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 11:41 p.m. Saturday for a report of loud music. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate or hear anything.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 10:31 p.m. Saturday for a reported hit and skip involving a parked vehicle. Officers contacted the driver and advised him and his licensed driver to report to the police department when they returned to the city to complete the report and avoid a leaving the scene citation. The matter is pending the driver and passenger providing the information.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Granite Avenue at 10:13 p.m. Saturday to check for a person with an outstanding warrant through the county. Officers located the man, Jason Sorrell, Salem, sitting on the front porch of the residence and took him into custody without incident after the warrant was confirmed. Sorrell admitted to having drugs in his right front jean pocket which were taken and placed into an evidence bag. Sorrell was then transported to the Columbiana County Jail, and the drugs will be turned over the department’s County Drug Enforcement Task Force Agent.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Superior Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Saturday to check for a person with multiple outstanding warrants from several different agencies. Officers spoke with the person in question, Sierra Centofanti of Salem, taking her into custody once the warrants were confirmed and transporting to the Columbiana County Jail where holds were placed on Centofanti for the wanting agencies.
— Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street at 9:36 p.m. Saturday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were done for the evening.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Sixteenth Street at 9:25 p.m. Saturday for a reported dispute over custody of a juvenile. Officers collected information from the party that was present and advised them to call back if the other person returned and caused an issue.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 8:29 p.m. Saturday for a report of criminal trespassing. Officers were advised that the subject of a prior trespass warning was back on the property. When officers arrived, they were advised the person had left prior to their arrival.
— While on the scene of a structure fire in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:53 p.m. Saturday officers were approached by the property manager who wanted a person trespassed from the property. Officers spoke with the person with the property manager and advised them that they were no longer allowed on the property and were provided with a trespass notice, which they signed. They were advised to leave the area and not return or they would be arrested.
— Officers observed several intoxicated individuals in the 900 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:42 p.m. Saturday. The people in question were advised not to go into the roadway near any motorists and issued warnings for disorderly conduct.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:42 p.m. Saturday to assist the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol for an incident regarding an accident with an uncooperative driver. Officers gathered information for the agencies involved.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:16 p.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised that his food order was delivered to the main entry door of the apartment building and taken by an unknown person, and that he had already checked with the other tenants in the building. After viewing the receipt, which was located crumpled up in the main driveway of the building and stated clearly for the order to be delivered inside the building and to which door, and the caller was advised to contact the business locally and through corporate if necessary for a possible refund. The caller advised he would do so.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 6:52 p.m. Saturday for a possible structure fire. Officers observed a large amount of smoke coming from the apartment complex and advised dispatch to contact the fire department. Officers then assisted in clearing out a few units of the complex until the fire department arrived. After the fire department arrived officers stood by until no longer needed.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 400 block of Ohio Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of wires down in the roadway. Officers determined that they were phone wires and were removed by the fire department.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 11:36 a.m. Saturday for a speak with officer report. Officers spoke with the manager on duty who advised that two people have been coming into the store and causing problems with one of the cashiers. The manager also advised that they wanted them to be trespassed from the business. Officers located the person in question at their residence and advised them that they were no longer welcome at the business.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of East School Street at 10:34 a.m. Saturday for a reported dispute. The caller advised that they wanted the person in question to leave the house, and after speaking with the person officers found that they lived at the residence. Officers advised the caller that the matter was civil in nature and both parties were advised to stay away from one another.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Wilson Street at 2:33 a.m. Saturday for a report of a woman needing help after flagging down truck driver for assistance. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found that the two were household members who had gotten into a physical altercation. Officers collected information and found the male half, Jonathan Lagone of Salem, had been the primary aggressor and he was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with domestic violence.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue at 1:45 a.m. Saturday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found that the caller and the other party were in a relationship and were in the process of separating. The other party’s ex-boyfriend arrived while the caller was removing items from the residence, and the caller took what they were able to for the evening before returning the next night for the rest. Both parties were advised to call back if necessary.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 8:47 p.m. Friday for a wellness check on a woman yelling for help. Officers arrived in the area but were only able to locate small children in the area with their families. Officers spoke to the other residents who advised that nothing was heard other than the children.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 7:29 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic in progress. It was determined that an unwanted person had come to the residence unannounced and causing issues. Neither threats nor violence occurred, and officers stood by until the person was picked up by their ride.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 6:47 p.m. Friday for a reported dispute in the parking lot. The caller advised that after a disagreement over a parking spot he was assaulted near the Independent Hose Company. A written statement was collected from the caller, and a verbal statement was provided by the other party involved. The report will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 5:39 p.m. Friday regarding a report of theft at a business in the 2300 block of East State Street. The caller advised that the business recently fired an employee and that their boyfriend then came to the business causing a disturbance. Officers advised the caller of the options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 4:09 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that while on the way to work he was confronted by a group of juveniles and that he has had issues with the group in the past. The caller also advised that nothing physical had occurred and no threats were made but he wanted a report on file in case there were further issues in the future.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 1:50 p.m. Friday to assist Perry Township officers. Officers checked the area for a wanted person who had fled from the scene.
— Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:32 p.m. Friday for a reported two-vehicle accident. A vehicle driven westbound in the 100 block of East Second Street by Chelsea Reynolds, 34, Salem, failed to stop for a red light, striking a vehicle driven northbound on North Ellsworth Avenue by Susan Gregory, 61, Salem, at 1:32 p.m. Friday. Reynolds was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital by EMT for possible injuries and will be issued a citation for the red-light violation. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East State Street at 11:29 a.m. Friday for a report of debris in the roadway. The caller advised that there was a large box of nails in the road. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the source of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:20 a.m. Friday for a report of a possible domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties who advised that it was only a verbal altercation and nothing physical had taken place. The male half advised that he would be leaving.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 7:50 a.m. Friday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that the juvenile was refusing to go to school and had also broken a door. The caller was advised to contact the juvenile court and file unruly charges.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 1:04 a.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a person was harassing her. The person had left prior to officers’ arrival, and they checked the area for them but did not locate them.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:57 p.m. Thursday for a report of an intoxicated person. The caller advised that the person needed medical assistance and was laying on the sidewalk. Officers spoke with the person, who was highly intoxicated, and advised that he had fallen and hit his head. The fire department and EMT arrived and EMT transported the man to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:14 p.m. Thursday on behalf of the Andover Police Dept. to check on juveniles who were allegedly home alone. Officers spoke with an uncle who was staying with the juveniles.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 10:39 p.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. Officers located the man, Ryan Armstrong, 41, Salem, who had already been trespassed from the business and the property, and took him into custody charged with criminal trespass and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 10:37 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a person would not leave her alone. When officers arrived, the caller advised them that the person had left prior to their arrival.
— Christy Rohn, 34, Salem, was cited for fictitious plates after her vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign on Sharp Street at 6:42 p.m. Thursday.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Sharp Avenue at 4:36 p.m. Thursday for a report of an abandoned bicycle which had been left on the lawn. The fire department responded and transported the bicycle back to the police department where it was placed with the other recovered bicycles.
